Quote:Kobe's only goal this season is to add to his all time points total, that's it.

Expect to see a whole lot of bricks from now until the end of Kobe's season, whenever that might be.

He still won't pass Malone.

Was never a big Kobe fan but always respected his talent. He is the closest to MJ I have ever seen. Always wanted the ball in his hands with the game on the line. You don't see that with LeBron.
He put up ,Kobe in his prime numbers, last night.  He will renege on his retirement poem.

Kobe   2 for 15

He's still worn down from that point scoring explosion he had a few games ago.

Definitely, that 8-16 shooting night for 20 points propelled him just above Steph in the All Star voting.  That should be an interesting game this year.  You know Kobe is going to get in.
Quote:Epitome of a one-dimensional player.

Lol what? Kobe was an elite defender and an elite scorer.
Quote:He's a real good player.

He's still missed more shots than anyone in history.

3rd in points but 11th in PPG.

He's not even in the top 250 in FG% that I could find.  I don't think he's even close.

It's not hard to score a lot when you shoot a lot.  He gets mentioned with the likes of Jordan but he's not on that level.  I'd say the next level down, maybe even two.

Being a level or two down from Jordan isn't really that big of a diss.

Kobe was one of the best shooting guards to ever play the game. I don't like him at all, but there really isn't disputing that he is one of the all time greats.
Going to see him play tonight.

I want to see him jack up 50 shots. I don't care if he misses all of them.

Team sucks anyway.

Lakers need loses.  If they draft 1-2-3 they keep their pick.  Otherwise, the Sixers get their pick.

I need the 76ers to get it so Orlando can get LA's 1st rounder in 2018.
I hate Kobe.  He is a great player and has some outstanding career accomplishments, however my dislike for him is still there.

I have seen him a lot as a Jazz fan because we play him 4 times per year.  Honestly, whether you like to believe it or not, star treatment is so real in the NBA.  Basketball is all about confidence, and how can you have low confidence when you come down the court knowing full well that if you miss, you'll get free throws?  Countless times Kobe bricks an off balance contested 3 while being triple teamed, and after the officials see that he misses, they blow the whistle and award 3 free throws.

I'm not blaming the officials for the outcome of games, but I certainly am blaming them for giving star treatment to players like MJ, Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, Russell Westbrook, etc..

It's hard for me to love a player that gets all the calls.  Karl Malone was arguably our best player of all time on the Jazz, and even at ten years old I could see that he got tons of calls he didn't deserve.  Kobe has made a career off of shooting 20 free throws per game even when he is not aggressively driving to the hoop.  Any decent shooter should average 16 ppg off of those Free Throws alone.

This may be true,

However, 5 Championships.
One good thing I will say about Kobe so far this year has to do with my fantasy team. Someone dropped him about a week and a half ago. Picked him up for a scrub, can't even remember who. Has played well since. Had a huge night last night.

Old timers love to use the "championships!" card when it suits them (Jordan) but deny it when it doesn't (Kobe).

Championships or not Jordan > Kobe

For sure. Did somebody say otherwise?
