This topic was side-tracking various draft threads, so I felt it needed it's own thread.
Presuming these two sign, the needs for Jamal Adams and Solomon Thomas. I have heard you can never have too many pass rushers, but we already have Fowler as basically an extra.
They still might pick one of these two, but taking them out of play who does this leave? You have...
- Jonathan Allen - with Sen'Derrick leaving there's a need for a guy to rotate with Malik at the 3-tech, and they may want more than Sheldon Day there.
- Marshon Lattimore - paired with Ramsey we'd have the best secondary in the league.
- Malik Hooker - in time Gipson would be his backup
- Leonard Fournette - instant starter for team's new emphasis on run
- Christian McCaffrey - Wowing at the combine
- DeShaun Watson (or other QB) - I expect the 49ers to take Kizer; Watson is my fav of this class.
- John Ross - the 4.22 40 WR was already thought to be the best of this WR class
- OJ Howard - we do need a TE, and at least one poster on here actually wants him here
- Forrest Lamp - are you kidding me? at #4?
Who are you taking now?
Its obvious its between fournette r adams..
In the end i want the player with the most impact..
That would be fournette as he will come in and take over on day 1..
I am still of the mind that it would be really hard for the Jags to screw this pick up, as long as it isn't a RB.
Allen - were not taking a rotational DT at 4
Lattimore - ok
Hooker - ok
Fournette - starting to look more and more likely as the FAs roll in but please god no
Mccaffrey - good player but not happening
Watson - were locked in on Blake Osweiler
John Ross - was never the best receiver in this class and his knees are mangled
OJ Howard - sounds good
Forrest Lamp - sounds good
If you take those two out the only realistic option left is Fournette. It's pretty telegraphed at this point.
I'd rather have Solomon Thomas but it boggles my mind how this fanbase has picked up this deep hatred for Fournette at 4.

It looks like a RB, if its not a RB its probably Hooker or another CB.
I'd say the likelihood of Fournette being the pick now is like 85%.
I'm in on a RB or Lattimore.
I believe all signs lead to one of two scenarios.
1. We draft Leonard Fournette at #4. This almost seems like a done deal.
2. We trade down, accumulate draft picks in 2018 in order to set ourselves up to get a franchise QB in that draft. By trading down, we could add an OG like Forest Lamp if we miss out on Zeitler in free agency or we could draft our LT of the future like Ryan Ramczyk and then select a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round.
Pick your poison.
Lattimore, Lamp/Ramczyk, Hooker, Fournette/Cook and Howard all seem to be a bit more in play at #4 than they were 24 hours ago.
I honestly have no clue what they'll do at 4. Trading down just keeps looking better and better though.

Unfortunately the reasons trading down keeps looking better and better is the same reason it is also looking less and less likely. And it already looked very unlikely.
Fournette or Adams?
Adams plays SS, the spot we just signed Church to play. It narrows it down to Fournette, Lattimore, or Solomon Thomas most likely. There will be a couple risers I'm sure too. OJ Howard/Derek Barnett etc.
Think people who dislike LF need to dive in to his games and watch him. It does seem like he's the favorite at this point.
I'm fairly stuck on Marshon Lattimore at this point.
He was already considered a top five player in this draft, and his combine helped to solidify everything said about him...

Marshon Lattimore, Ohio State - 6' 0", 193 lbs, 4.36 40, 38 1/2 vert, 11' 0" broad
<p style="margin-left:40px;">
Here's a good write-up on him calling him the next Stephen Gilmore...

I prefer waiting for the first couple of days of FA to be over before answering, the only thing I'm sure I don't want is still a RB at 4 especially not with the current Oline (that's why waiting for FA scenario to be clearer).
Also, do you remember when Coughlin drafted Henderson and Stroud in back-to-back years? The two blossomed together as the Twin Towers absolutely dominating inside. We could do the same thing now with back-to-back stellar CBs.
Man, how many times do I have to say a DB is not going top 4 before people believe me.
Number of DBs that have went in the top 4 in the past 20 years: 0
