Quote:Then Thursday show down Jaguars vs Titans!   Zimmerman wants revenge on GM Dave Caldwell firing him for HC Gus Bradley...

the big question is can Gus out coach the guy they fired for poor performance?

Their defense worries me a bit considering how bad our OL has been playing lately.

So blake didn't throw 2 tds? Our defense didn't force several turnovers? Myers didn't make a 53 yard fg to win?

This game wasn't won by a face mask.

And if u don't think we are much better than last year you are blind

Let me ask you one question.

If we don't get that face mask penalty and Dumervil just wraps Blake up and he goes down, who wins the game?

For good reason they are 3rd against the Pass (Jaguars real strength) and 5th overall in the NFL (titans), going to be a very tough couple of games (almost back to back with only one game in between)!
The Jaguars hit gold in the draft with OLB Telvin Smith and then undrafted WR Allen Hurns, (from Jaguars.com) *Hurns’ 5-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter not only extended his franchise record for consecutive games with a touchdown reception to seven, it made him the first NFL player since Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant in 2012 with a streak that long!  The 2nd round pick WR Allen Robinson is currently ranked 7th in the NFL with 758 receiving yards (Allen Brothers are 6&7th ranked among 2nd year WRs)!  Of Course 1st place Odell Beckham has 18 more catches yet only a 105 more yards than AR15!

The Jaguars have struggled the first half of the season, partly due to vast injuries to key player positions, but the AFC South is so bad that they are still only two games from taking first place from the Colts (on a bye).  The Jaguars play this Thursday against their former Head Coach Zimmerman (Titans).  The Jaguars can expect a very hard game as the Titans Defense currently ranked 5th overall in the NFL (3rd in Passing) won't make it easy for QB Blake Bortles to gun sling it to a win... it'll require TJ Yeldon and the Oline to get hot at making gaps for Yeldon to explode thru....

The Titans offense isn't very good led by a rookie QB they are currently ranked 30th overall (Jaguars Offense is ranked 22nd), and the Jaguars 19th Overall Defense needs his best performance as the Defense might have to carry the Jaguars Offense in this game.

The Titans are 2-7 after losing to the Panthers while the Jaguars are trying to continue the positive energy from the win heading into Thursday 3-6, both teams are 0-2 in the AFC South.

The Allen Brothers are ranked 4th & 6th among the AFC South in receptions caught, but they are both deep touchdown threats to which the Titans have to count for, which hopefully will keep them from stacking the box against Yeldon.

If the Jaguars can win this game we can start to consider them for possibly winning the AFC South as they have the weakest schedule among the rest of the AFC South teams, but first they have to prove that beating the Ravens wasnt simply luck....

Of course the game would be over.

Let me ask you a seperate question. Given Blakes escapability, do you feel it is a given Dumervil brings him down without pretty much ripping his head off?

Maybe, maybe not.
It feels good to be in it still. Thats awesome.

Well that's a big IF that didn't happen. Now lemme ask you a question. If myers wouldve made that chip field goal earlier in the 4th quarter, would we even need that late fg to win?.... go head I'm waiting.... that's what I thought...

Zimmerman? Is that Mularkey's nickname or something?

playoffs!!!!!!!!! don't talk about playoffs. one game at a time people.

If the Ravens scored a TD, then yes...
The fact that this team is only one game out of play off contention suggests to me just how bad the AFC South division really is! Sick

What you say is true, but you can say that about almost every game.  There's almost always one play that wins or loses for us.  This time, it came on the last play of the game.   Sometimes, you're unlucky, and sometimes, you're lucky.  Sometimes, you're driving for the winning score, and the ball is tipped, and it just happens to fall into the hands of a defender.  Sometimes, your FG kicker misses two makeable game winning kicks.  Sometimes, Morten Andersen happens.  This year, all year, we've been saying, but for this one play, we would have won.   Today, we can say, but for this one play, we would have lost.

For all the games we've blown in the 4th quarter this year, this time, we got lucky.  So what?  Sometimes, the other team is lucky.

The bottom line is, as long as we stay in the race, there's a chance we can start playing better and take this division.

Or if Walters doesn't drop the TD pass before Myers misses the field goal..or if..or if...

this game was won by the team who had the most points on the board at the end of the game. PERIOD.

the facemask and field goal were 2 plays out of a couple hundred ran that day. they have probably more significance than many other plays... but they are part of a GAME that the jags won.

PERIOD

Cool dude.

Thanks for all your thoughts on the subject. So great to talk about what if's right?

What if Myers drills those FG's against the Colts? What if we didn't let Jameis dump is off to the RBs every 3rd down play?

Enjoy the win dude.
We control our own destiny. We still have four division games.

Who knows if we had needed it or not.  Maybe Baltimore manages to score with a different scenario.

I'll take the win.

The face mask penalty was the savior.

Who cares.

We won.

You're taking this way too seriously.

The face mask call, a screw up by Elvis, saved the day allowing Myers the chance at redemption.

That's all I was saying.

In the end, this is the NFL, a W is a W.

I wasn't trying to argue against any of that.  I agree, finally another team screwed up more than we did and screwed up to cost them a win.  I'll take it.  Far too often we are the team blowing it and ending up with the L.

Not this time!
