Did you forget we drafted a pass rusher who can play defensive end? His name is Dante Fowler and he wears #56.
To be honest, yes I forgot what number he wears since its been so long since he wore it....let alone never worn it in a game for us yet.
Did he miss the plane to Baltimore????? I hope he enjoys his last 6 weeks in Jacksonville.
Quote:I remember really wanting the Jags to draft Vinny Curry with that second round pick. Another swing and a miss.
We could of traded for him at the deadline.
Branch is ineffective as an NFL rusher. Good teams have more than one rusher; I think Dave will go after another rusher to pair with a healthy Fowler for next year.
I named this guy an actor, He will come rushing after the ball is tackled. But the 22-Film won't lie. Another Gene Smith Bust, Vinny Curry and Oliver Vernon were drafted after this bust. He cannot bend his hips and as Jeff Lageman put he is a cleaner and not a creator of havoc.
I would atleast put him in special team and give opportunity to Chris Smith. I think the team wants Chris Smith to be practice squad eligible next year and thats why they are putting smith in healthy scratch. Otherwise I can't believe they are giving opportunity for a failure Branch. Atleast Clemons has some pass rush moves, this guy relies on marginal offsides to get any pass rush.
I expect that he's playing his final season here.

Yeah, and we could
HAVE too.
Edge rushers: Andre Branch, Jaguars (-5.5) and Devin Taylor, Lions (-3.7)
Branch was absolutely invisible yesterday for the Jaguars. In 47 snaps, he failed to record a single tackle or even get a pressure when rushing the passer. He was completely neutralized by an average Ravens’ offensive line that the Jaguars made look amazing yesterday. Taylor came on the field as a pass rush specialist for the Lions, but had just a single QB hurry in 45 pass rushes. Not enough to avoid a place on this team.
From ProFootballFocus in which he is rated the Worst Player at DE in the NFL ....
Him and Tyson Alualu (Interior) have struggled (tyson was on the list twice earlier this year)....
Now with Marks being reinjured the Dline is really a mess...
Only thing I notice about Branch is when he loses contain and allows someone to run right around him. He no bueno.
Quote:I'd offer my first rounder for Von Miller and some change if I'm picking in the top 5. Denver is going to go hard at a franchise QB next year.
I heard several QBs names in Denver talk for next year, and Matthew Stafford is on top of their list... so I've heard...

Denver has a lot of stars they need to pay. D. Thomas, D.Ware, P.Manning, A. Talib, D. Ward, C. Harris.. amoung others, dont know if they have eniugh mobey to keep Von...Denver plays a 4-3 defense jus like we do and so von would fit perfectly... and so what if we have Fowler, he's not proven yet and even if he does become great, you need more than one pass rusher to be a great team.

Do you mean overall or just for the past week? Because overall he's 3rd worst. Clemons is the worst. In case anybody is wondering why our pass rush is non-existent.

Best post this season! Hands down...

Oh really? Are you the new Adam Schefter?
Branch has been having problems rushing the passer and with his TPS reports. If he could fix those things....yea....that would be greaaaat.
Quote:We could of traded for him at the deadline.
Based on your speculation? He has nearly zero trade value.
There's really not much to say here; Branch has done virtually nothing to help his case as a Jaguar in the whole time he's been associated with the team. There's no point in cutting him mid season though if we don't have someone in the wings whom we are pretty sure would be an upgrade. So there it is; let him finish the season and unless he does something dramatic to improve his stock cut'em afterwards. He's just a body occupying a space on the roster who is doing practically nothing to help the team.

I can't wait to see Chris Smith be a healthy scratch again!

Based on that, the team could hardly do any worse if they signed two street free agents and started them in place of Clemons and Branch. That is truly pathetic.
