Today against the Colts he had 19 tackles and played good in coverage, guy was all over the field. Was the broncos best player on both sides of the ball today. He is a free agent at the end of the season and I would LOVE to pair him with Telvin/Poz. Thoughts?
Yeah but would he even want to come here?

Definitely a player I would like to be here in Jax
Just a thought here...

The Jags are 33.95 Mil under the cap in 2015.

The Jags are projected to be 45.47 Mil under the cap in 2016

If the Jags carry over the entire 33.95 Mil into 2016, then the team will have 79.42 Mil to spend in free agency.

Cutting Beadles (5.5) + Gerhart (3.5) + Clemons (4) adds another 13 Mil to the total or 92 Mil in 2016 cap space.

I think the Jags have some room to sign some free agents.

Don't forget about Julius and Marcedes. Two of the most overpaid TEs in the league

If they sign Trevathan, it's bye-bye Poz.

Lewis is almost guaranteed to not be here next year either, especially with Jacobs arguably outperforming him at times, but I can't remember if his deal extends beyond this year or if this is the final year of the deal.

Also worth noting that if Trevathan is added, it's almost certainly at Poz's expense.

Thomas isn't going anywhere.

What makes you think Julius Thomas is one of the most overpaid tight ends?

No it's not. We would just have to juggle the depth chart.

The fact that he averages 3 catches for 29 yards and 0.25 touchdowns per game and offers nothing in the run game and is just about the highest paid tight end in history.

How many big slow linebackers do we want on the field at the same time?

None of that means anything except that you need to learn more about football.

Telvin Smith is small and fast. So is Dante Fowler. What are you talking about?

Well, for one, Fowler's a defensive lineman...

Poz and Skuta are both big and slow. Trevathan is an inside linebacker, not an Otto, and Telvin has the weakside job locked down. Poz does not fit as an outside linebacker in this scheme. Signing Trevathan would make Poz a very expensive backup who doesn't offer much on special teams. In short, Poz would be all but assured of a release if Trevathan came over.
Poz has played good this year but he's also getting up there in age. The biggest knock on trevathan is he has had injury concerns,so I would like to keep Poz because of that. I also think trevathan has the athletic ability to play the otto. He's not Skuta big but he's a lot faster and is a good coverage LB. Just the thought of him/poz/Telvin flying sideline to sideline is exciting

Flower was drafted and is listed as a linebacker.

How many times do people have to tell you this?

"Fowler" is listed as a DE

Absolutely!

Could Trevathan play OTTO or SAM for a year or two? I believe he could

We are going to use him as our Leo. That is a pass-rushing linebacker.

Nope.

LEO is the name for a Pass Rushing end (I still think the name is stupid). Lined up on the weak side of the formation.

Did you really think Andre Branch and 80 year old Chris Clemons are linebackers?
