Quote:I'm not saying you're wrong.... but AR15 belongs in there, somewhere.
I'm not saying he doesn't. I'm saying he won't be in because of all of the receivers on that list. Pro bowl is a popularity contest and as long as those WR's have similar stats, which they do, they will get the nod over ARob. It's an unfortunate result of being a Jaguar.

Julio Jones
Antonio Brown
DeAndre Hopkins
Odell Beckham Jr.
Demariyus Thomas
Brandon Marshall
Larry Fitzgerald
T.Y. Hilton
A.J. Green
Calvin Johnson
Amari Cooper
Julian Edelman
Emmanuel Sanders
I see every single one of those WRs getting the nod over Robinson and Hurns.
So you think the Pro Bowl will have 13 wide receivers? That is impossible.
You obviously are just going by names, not numbers. This is not 2014 anymore. Many of the players you listed are not even close to their performance levels in the past. For starters, Demariyus Thomas gets far fewer opportunities to catch the ball this year. And why would T.Y. Hilton get in when he does not even have an OC? Like I said earlier, team success plays a big role in fan voting and the Colts have little of it this season. Look at the stat sheet before assuming guys who play for bad teams or had their playing time reduced will be picked over both of our receivers named Allen.
Of course one or both of our receivers will get snubbed. Only six wide receivers can go to Hawaii. But you are nuts if you think players picked over them include DeAndre Hopkins and Amari Cooper.
11-10-2015, 02:07 PM
Hopkins will definitely go before them. And Amari has good stats and is a much bigger name so he will too.
11-10-2015, 02:09 PM
He has a chance to go. Many veterans OPT OUT of pro bowl. They don't want to go. I'm sure AJ Green, Calvin, Fitzgerald, and some others will opt out.

Hopefully we can keep both these players long term... If so, 3 years from now these 2 guys will be house hold names, along with BB5

Just stop.
And why would T.Y. Hilton get in when he does not even have an OC?
Ummm, what?
But you are nuts if you think players picked over them include DeAndre Hopkins and Amari Cooper.
Why, because they both have better #s than Cooper?

If we lose Hurns....oh well. Elite QB's can plug anyone in and they will succeed. See Rodgers....James jones, davante adams, jordy nelson, etc.....See Peyton.....See Brady. Bortles will be elite. Even Bryan Walters numbers are decent with Blake.

If anything, I'd think that would boost his candidacy, as he's clearly making the best of a bad situation between the OC change and Luck's playing around in the toilet.

Hurns in particular is growing into a top-ten receiver in the NFL. I used to think that the man was too slow to be a number one, but he looks a little quicker this season (somehow) and just has a knack for getting open over the top of the defense in a way that no Jaguar since Jimmy Smith has--even if he doesn't have Jimmy's speed. I hope Lee rebounds and becomes just a straight-up burner, because we might be staring at the best three-receiver group in Jaguars' history if that happens.

Thomas is overpaid. He's not very good. He literally doesn't even know where he is on the field and ran a route out of bounds last game. Bortles is using his WR's this year. He's 23....he will learn to checkdown and use his TE more in the future. At UCF, he threw to WR's 95% of time and RB 5% and TE 0%. Our tight end had 1-2 catches a season.

Lets say ARob gets close to 1600 yards and 14 tds.
He has to be voted in. Has to be

Then that makes it even worse for the Allens.... Brown and Hopkins are definitely making it, leaving them to compete with Thomas, Marshall, Hilton, Green, Cooper, Edelman, Sanders and I'm sure others that I am leaving out. It's an uphill battle that we'll be lucky if one gets in. It sucks, but the realist in me sees neither of them getting a pro bowl nod, no matter how deserving they may be. The truth is that there are a lot of receivers putting up similar numbers that they are in bigger markets, with bigger names, and on better teams.

Also, here are their ranks in the AFC receiving among WR's
Robinson:
40 rec (16th)
707 yds (6th)
6 tds (T2nd)
Hurns
36 rec (T19th)
635 (13th)
6 (T2nd)
Yes, they have the TD's compared to the other AFC WR's, but for reference, 5 TD's gets you tied for 6th and 4 TD's gets you tied for 9th.
Just looking at it realistically gives me little hope that either will make it unless one of them pulls away in the 2nd half.
