Quote:There were too many calls the refs made on behalf of NY. I don't like to play the crappy ref card, but that can make a difference.

And we did look better than past games.

Daggers too, at the worst times we got penalties
Quote:Bortles throwing another interception is inexcusable.  What a joke.  POZ?!

Asking him to go 94 yards in 50 seconds is a bit much. Poz should have made a play.
This is the type of game nobody would mind much if we had a good team.  Even good teams have games like this where they always get the brown end of the stick.  After this game I am not as frustrated as during the game since the players played good enough to win games.

However, having said that, the offensive line is still the Achilles heel of this team.  As long as it remains a sieve, we will continue to see killer plays on offense - the fumbles, the interceptions, the penalties, and 3rd and longs because of the lack of run game.  It's really a domino effect from there.  No team can be consistently successful with chaos, and that's what it is, around the line of scrimmage.

Quote:Last year was supposed to be the "competitive" year. This year was supposed to be the wins. Oh well, next year as always.

It was built
Quote:Tellllll me about it, every game (other than NE) we are RIGHT there and let couple plays get away... I guess u could say at least we are very competitive?

Compared to last year, yes. I think that we need to go after like a premier corner and DE if they are available as free agents in the off-season. I think you definitely go hard on the defense this next draft too.
Quote:The refs are always terrible, that's the nature of the NFL...better learn how to play around it until you get good.
You do realize we are almost always fodder for the refs, right? Unless you're a favored team (Pats, Indy, Denver, etc) the refs aren't going to be in your favor. The worst thing about the refs today was the commentators who are also known to be on anyone's side except ours, could see how bad it was.

With no timeouts and multiple free rushers on almost every play.

Bortles was backed up inside the 10 with 50 seconds left and no timeouts and needing a TD. There was probably a less 3% chance of actually scoring a TD at that point. He had to take a chance.

He could have thrown a check down to the middle of the field for a 7 yard gain while running 20 seconds off the clock....that would have been good.

Again I don't know why I am even talking to you because you have made it obvious that you don't know what you are seeing our there.

Yeah I do realize it, that's why I said "better learn to play around it until you get good."  Once you start winning you'll get calls your way, until then you'll deal with [BAD WORD REMOVED] calls, that's just the nature of the beast.

We won't be playing the teams the league has a bias towards every week, games like this you'll get calls if you aren't a bad team that nobody cares about.

Quote:The refs were horrible
I'm numb to this.  We got screwed on the challenge and no calls for interference; but after being a fan this long it's expected.

I need to sleep this one off.  BB5 played above average but still needs to work on coverages to fix the ints.   We definitely need to force and capitalize on defensive turnovers, it's frustrating and helped in losing us another game.  Lastly, run blocking and the drops are getting tiresome so overall Gus better do whatevers necessary to prove he wants the job.
Quote:The bounces will come our way. We did look like a real NFL team today on the road, it ain't much to hang your hat on, but we did look legitimate. We had a heck of a pass rush, Defense looked good, stuffing the run. Blake was running and gunning and unfortunately also had a couple picks. Our receivers made some great catches.

It was a hard fought loss and there are no moral victories but it was a good match up.

I am not disgusted with the team at this point in time.

NO.  Wrong.  Bounces come your way when you are prepared.  When you practice hard.  When you only think of winning and go all out to win.  Then things turn your way.

bounces don't come your way just because of odds...  Not in sports.  You have to earn your bounces.  Luck is preperation and opportunity meeting.  Did you never play any sport at a competitive level?

I never got "lucky".  I worked hard and was ready when the opportunity presented itself.  This team has no idea what hard work is.  This is a lazy, lacksidasical team that just assumes things will go thier way.  They "Believe" in victory.  But they have no concept on how to be winners.

It's so simple, it's all about the lack of true leadership.  This roster is full of talent, but they have a loser that doesn't know how to prepare them to win.  It's pretty simple stuff...

I agree with you.  The firs throw off the cuff was an interception.  Throw it away or check it down.  He needs to be smarter.
Muffing a punt, looks legitimate?  Muffing a punt looks like an NFL team?  Psshhhh.  Get out of here with that non-sense.

This team looks just like their head coach.  A total joke.

This 100%. The team just doesn't make plays when it needs to. It is constantly CONSTANTLY making critical mistakes. There is no focus, no discipline. It needs leadership desperately.

I honestly don't know that we will ever be 'good enough' for the refs, commentators or the NFL. We could go all the way to the SB and every excuse in the book would be made as to how we got there.

Anchorman you are posting nonsense. Nobody looked LAZY out there. Except maybe Thomas. Poz slides over a ball, it's just luck how it ends up because it's not a round ball. Sometimes you do make your luck, and sometimes the ball just rolls the wrong way. It wasn't a bad game by the Jags, C'mon man.
we can't laugh at the tacks and 49er's anymore

tacks won and gabbs just gave them first TD in 9 quarters for the lead

Quote:I think the most frustrating thing is it just seems like we're RIIIIIIGHT there

I know. The team really looked good today, but they knew from the start they had to play a mistake free game. Nick Marshall would have been in for a stellar game with his long returns today while possibly giving the Jaguars the win had he simply not muffed the punt near the end. It's just so frustrating.

There's still stupid mistakes. Dumb penalties. Questionable coaching. Marshall should have never even been put in that position. Bryan Walters has been reliable on returns and you take him out.

Do you realize with better coaching this team would be in the division lead?

I think a Superbowl would probably do it, or maybe consecutive years in the AFC championship game.
