Quote:What was debunked? Read the WSJ article posted above. Carson is a serial liar and/or exaggerator. And the WSJ is hardly part of the evil mainstream media.

Just because you want to believe something bad enough doesn't mean it's true.

He never said he applied or attended. He was the top ROTC cadet, and he met with the higher ups whom could get him into west point. He has stated many times he only applied to one college, Yale, because his heart was with medicine.

I know for a fact now you have never read his book because that came from it, plus from previous interviews he has done.

Your failure to see past your bias is really shocking. It's ok not to like him, but don't try to state articles by the media as truth, do your own research, like reading a book.
Did u know Hillary Clinton got a sex predator acquitted she knew to be guilty?
Quote:Debunked. Once again the main stream media will do whatever it can to lie and assisinate a candidate on the right.

I guarantee you this came from one of the other Republican campaigns.   Probably Trump.

Also, I'm not sure it's been debunked.   He's changed his story to one that cannot be refuted.   From an offer of a scholarship to a vague recollection of a conversation where he was told he could get in.   The implication of the story in his book was that West Point offered him a scholarship.   Now he says someone not associated with West Point told him that if he applied, he could probably get in.   It sounds to me like he puffed it up for the book.   "I was offered a scholarship" was not exactly what happened.

The reason this is important is that his whole campaign is based on his personal life story.   From juvenile delinquent to world renowned surgeon.   It's all about how far he came in life.   Now, the media is starting to investigate his story, and they finding out that he wasn't the juvenile delinquent he claims to have been.   He was just a mild mannered studious guy who became a world renowned surgeon.   That's not quite as great a story, is it?   He won't tell us whom he tried to stab in his stabbing story, and everyone who knew him has said they don't remember any such incident.

Isn't it weird, here's a presidential candidate who says he was this horrible juvenile delinquent, the MSM says, we've interviewed everyone we can find, and they all say you were a nice quiet studious guy, and the candidate is really mad that they don't believe him?   This is the opposite of how this is supposed to go.  The media is supposed to accuse the candidate of having been a horrible person and the candidate is supposed to deny it.   Bizarro world we are living in.

But the reason he wants people to believe he was this horrible teenager is because the religious right loves stories of redemption.   Nice guy becomes great surgeon, well what's so great about that?   Juvenile delinquent becomes great surgeon, now there's a book worth writing and a story worth reading.  Without that part about how bad he was growing up, he's just another guy who became a surgeon.

If I had talked to someone and they told me that if I applied to Harvard I would probably get in, and then I went and said I had been offered admission to Harvard, wouldn't you think I was at the very least guilty of puffery?

That's sort of like someone telling me that if I tried out for the Jags I would probably make the team, and then me telling people I had been offered a contract to play for the Jags.

Quote:Obama had a Senate term under his belt, and foreign policy hasn't exactly been the cornerstone of his Presidency. The fact that Ben Carson's foreign policy experience is limited to vacations doesn't lead you to believe he'd be even worse in the foreign policy arena than Obama?

If it comes down to it, can my wife and our two dogs join you? We're clean, we provide our own meals, and we'll pay our rent in dirty jokes since money will be useless in a post-Carspocalyptic society.
I guess you missed the part where I was being sarcastic.

Once I got my picture with Gus Bradley. What I mean to say is he offered me the offensive coordinator position for 14 million dollars a year FOR LIFE. I told him I don't even like ice cream hahahaha!! I'm an astronaut now.
Not if the guy who said he could get u in was a senator.

There are tons of people who were recruited to west point who had similar stories of recruitment.

The implication of the story is that carsons academic record was lacking so he represented a scenario anove his means. Thats rediculous. Given his grades his background and almost inordinate position in rotc at the time its not just plausible but obvious that he would have been a target for recruitment.

Did he receive a "full scholarship offer to West Point"? That is in his book.
This article is sensationalism. He's probably making it up but thats no even important. He says he will surround himself wit advisors to help I'm in areas where he lacks knowledge. That would be fantastic if he hadn't already shown he is unwilling to accept evidence of reality as I is, in favor of "nah this is what I think".

People are supporting this buffoon.
I find it amusing that people attack Dr. Carson for his past, and are trying to trumpet the "he lied" horn.  What about Hillary's lies and her past?  Let's start with the basics such as the fake accents that she uses depending on who she's speaking to.  To me that is pretty offensive.  How about how she tries to counter Marco Rubio by claiming that she had a poor upbringing and is looking at the future?  I kind of think that the facts prove otherwise.

What is happening is the far left, including the MSM is becoming afraid of Dr. Carson and they are looking for any way to destroy/discredit him.  It's pretty much the same smear campaign that was used against Herman Cain.

The far left even goes so far as to claim "white guilt" as to why Dr. Carson has surged in the polls.  That kind of Op-Ed is disgusting and should not be published.  Mark my words, if Dr. Carson continues to rise or be at the top of the polls, you will see the "Uncle Tom" reference come out.

Remember all those times you complain about "typical liberal deflection" in other threads? You know where people try to show the similarities in two scenarios and you complain about it? You know, that thing you just did here?

That aside, people are afraid of Carson because he doesn't accept expert advice despite overwhelming evidence from experts in the fields. Carson is either unware of his total ignorance or he's embracing it. That is kind of terrifying to people.

No.  The far left would love for Ben Carson to win the Republican nomination, because they know he has no chance in the general election.

This stuff is coming from the Republican establishment.  They are extremely afraid of Carson winning the nomination, because they know that not only does he have no chance of winning the general election, there would be a very good chance he would drag down the rest of the party and lose the house and Senate.   Either that or it's coming from Trump.  Trump is perfectly capable of doing this kind of oppo research and getting it into the press.   But the left?   No way.   They would love to face Carson in the general election.

And, if you really think Herman Cain was qualified to be President, watch this:

The MSM didn't have to do anything to Herman Cain to bring him down except ask him some basic questions that any candidate should be able to answer.

In other news hes pollong ahead of clinton by about 3 to 5 points
Quote:This is, hands down, the silliest stupidest thing that i have ever read or heard in my life.  15,000 some odd successful surgeries.  He was such a world renown surgeon that Cuba Gooding Junior has ALREADY played the man in a movie for crying out loud.  The man has more objective accomplishments that helped the lives of thousands of people than most of the population can ever dream of and you're comparing him to a pop star Reality TV personality?  That's sick, pathetic and frankly you should be ashamed of yourself.

lol ... Mom, is that you? You going to try and wash out my mouth with soap?

Actually, you sort of made my point. Cuba Gooding played this man in a movie! Vote for him for president!

I don't know why you've taken this as your mission, but support whomever you want. Many of us are saying that we don't know much about the guy (other than he says some really goofy things) and that there may be more to the image than that we've been given. Imagine that.

I think that says more about Clinton than it does about Carson.

Don't forget her story where she was going to join the Marines, but the recruiter said she was stupid and old at 27, your a woman. She was about to marry Bill.  What a complete lie.

Or how about how she took sniper fire in Bosnia.  Then she said she "misspoke."  This woman is completely insane.  If anyone is going to be accused of lying its this crazy woman.

This is a nice example of what's wrong with most political analysis.  You post a clip where Cain goes a little stream of consciousness when asked to agree to a broad generalization not a specific issue of libian policy.  you neglect to mention that in REALITY it turns out that the administration didn't have an adequate plan for a post quadafi Libya and the situation spiraled so far out of control that for the first time in 36 years an American Ambassador was killed, and since the area has become a hot bed of terrorist activity.

Also, it would appear that he was a little bit more qualified than this guy.  This is why the Clintons now vet just about anyone who wants to be part of a town hall forum.
