Let me get this straight, you wouldn't have a problem hiring a guy that has been fired twice?

Quote:Yes, it'd be terrible to hire a HC who took a meh Cardinals team with a washed up QB to the super bowl. I suppose we should be trying to get Jeff Fisher, my bad.

The coach that is 4-31 in his last 35 games? Good idea.

He had John Skelton and a rookie at QB in that span. Color me shocked he wasn't able to win with the GOAT John Skelton at QB
Quote:Mularkey will out coach Gus

lol, which HC doesn't?

All of the coaches who were fired after losing to Gus, of course. That list includes Gary Kubiak, who was fired the day after losing in Jacksonville.

4-31. Probably the worst 35 game stretch of any coach in history I would guess. Yeah, hire that dude.

Wow, that is awful.

Even Gus is 9-30 and we have all seen what that looks like.

Give Bill Belichick John Skelton and Matt Leinart and he would have an equally terrible record.

Bruce Arians had John Skelton and Logan Thomas, but took Arizona to the playoffs with those guys. I always hated Bill Belicheat, but he really is a great coach and would win games anywhere.

So does Gus get a pass with Henne and Gabbert?

Highly unlikely. Never thought I'd see someone bang the table for Whisenhunt.

Mike Mularkey was 2-14 with Gabbert and Henne. Give him a break.

So you think Mularkey was a good coach who could not win because of his quarterbacks? Try again. He also was fired by the Bills.

Absolutely I would give him a pass for Henne and Gabbert. Gabbert is beyond awful and Henne is, well, Henne. I even gave him a pass last year as Bortles was a rookie and still learning. This year is where he needs to start to show progress, and so far he's not getting it done.

We are progressing, just not fast enough for impatient fans. How many times do I have to say that?

Gus Bradley is also dealing with injuries. We did not have Julius Thomas the first four weeks. Denard Robinson was out four weeks. Brandon Linder is on IR. You can't expect the backups to be perfect.

Didn't he resign?

Nope - fired. Doug Marrone quit.

This is confusing.

Did he:

A- Resign/quit (use an escape clause in his contract to opt out if there was a change in the Bills football operation.

B-Get fired. Meaning the Bills fired him, as in told him he is no longer going to be their HC.

They are not the same, only the result of him not being the HC is.

Wrong as usual. Mularky resigned in Buffalo after the GMs JP Losmon experiment blew up. The previous year his team finished 9-7.

Marrone used an escape clause, Mularky resigned.

Marrone still got paid, Mularky did not.

Neither would've been fired at the time they left Buffalo.
