Do we get an extra pick? Thought we got the sixth + a conditional if he starts
Lol,, they trade Vernon Davis and then decide to start BG. Hahahaha,, good luck there sunshine!

Side note-- CK getting benched in favor of Gabbert,,, man, how bad that must be.

I seem to recall hearing something similar, but I thought that deal only applied if he started in his first year with the 49ers.
Quote:they want the top pick in the darft I see.

The 49ers-Lions game in Week # 16 could easily have the stakes of the # 1 pick in the 2016 darft.   It wouldn't even surprise me if the 49ers starting QB that day is someone who has yet to start a game for them.   It's hard to imagine Blaine Gabbert keeping the starting job on merit for all of the games leading up to Week # 16.

LOL He must think Gabbert will be better in SF because the 49ers have more talent than the Jaguars did in 2012.
I definitely have to watch that game. In fact, I might have to wear my Gabbert jersey Sunday.

Nope, he actually sent me a youtube clip of a BG TD pass in the preseason. haha
Does anybody want to see Gabbert have success or is everybody rooting against him?

I feel a hidden nervousness in the air of the questions that will be raised if he is successful.

The 49ers must be desperate.  Maybe he's been lighting it up in practice.  Or the coach has been lighting it up.

I heard the reports a few days ago (maybe after 49ers last week's game) about Vernon Davis getting into an altercation with or about CK,, and that other teammates got involved. *I can't remember exactly what the situation was.

Anyway,

They trade off Vernon Davis,, and THEN decide to bench CK. Lol!!

What's going on over there?

My guess is Vernon told Kaep to give him the ball and Kaep said he's too slow and old to get open. To prove this, Kaep beat Vernon in a race, to which Vernon then countered by beating Kaep in a passing drill

They're in full-on tank mode with the intention of firing the coach (and possibly the GM) at the end of the year, then bringing in a big-name retired coach to take over.
Welp, looks like Gus gets 2016. Too many teams ahead of us now in HC race

The sixth round pick was for this year. I can't remember which player we used it on.

What conditional pick?
As far as Kaepernick goes, it'll be interesting to see where he goes next year. He's not going to get big money but he'll probably get high level backup quarterback money.

The "HC race" doesn't truly begin until the season ends. It's extremely rare for an outside candidate to be hired into a head coaching role midseason. This is one scenario I'm not worried about. If Khan has told Caldwell that he'll be pulling the plug on Bradley at the end of the year, Caldwell is already compiling his list. Firing Bradley now wouldn't put us "ahead" of anyone when it comes to replacing him. It's a hiring process, not a draft.

I like to see former Jaguars have good games, but don't care one bit if the 49ers win or lose.

Nobody is going to want Gabbert back if he plays well in San Francisco. Bortles statistically is one of the best quarterbacks this season.

lol I feel bad for him, oh well he isn't in our conference, I hope he tears [BLEEP] up.

Either way, it's so much easier watching him play in another uniform.  And entertaining.
