Full Version: So all that talk of Yeldon being a first round talent wasn't fluff?

Quote:Of course we would rather have Gurley lol

Dude is top 3 RB already and he's only played in like 3 games.
Yea he is and we could have got him..
We weren't going to draft Gurley 3rd overall when we desperately need a pass rush.
Wait until Linder comes back and Cann starts over 'Beat-les'
I'll eat some crow here, I wasn't very excited about the pick of a RB so high but it's extremely obvious we were in desperate need of RB help.

I also think I, as a long time fan, have been highly spoiled by the play of Means, Freddy T and Mojo, so even if Yeldon is a good back I just hadn't been blown away until his TD run effort yesterday. If he continues this upward trajectory he can definitely earn his place with our other greats.

He's a very different back than the other guys you mentioned.
I admit I was dead wrong.

hahaha

Atleast you can admit it dawg.

Right, which is why I didn't really appreciate what he was. Now I understand what to expect and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Quote:YOU don't get it. Saying Yeldon is better than Robinson means NOTHING in the big picture.

I think you are missing how good Yeldon actually is. Nobody is getting excited because of "one game". He's run for over 100 yards in two of his last three games. He has shown plenty is just a half of a season. His YPC is up to 4.0 and should only go up.
I've been very impressed by him all year, honestly.  Obviously, this was his "breakout" game, and no, his YPC numbers hadn't been great up until Sunday.................but I thought it was pretty clear that he was, at the least, a very good back.  There had been so many games where he had absolutely zero running lanes and was still squeaking out 3 or 4 very tough yards.  A game like Sunday was bound to happen for him.

Not to mention he's managing this behind an admittedly terrible Run-Blocking O-Line.

I did not like the pick at all when it happened.

I like it quite a bit now.

I liked it before this game, too.  Kid's good.

He's so smooth.

He's not gonna wow people with power or speed but he has good feet and is so sneaky.
A first round talent at RB is almost a myth anymore.

At the very least - it's rarer than Marqise Lee suiting up and playing 4 quarters of regular season football. They don't need to be drafted that high with very rare exception.

That said - Yeldon will be very good behind a healthy line w/Linder and I think they drafted him in the right spot.

Better blocking, playcalling, and second halves and Yeldon will regularly be breaking 100 total yards. He's a natural

I have no problem doing it too.

You are part of a small group that can do it.
I'd still consider Ezekiel Elliott, but we're likely going to draft defense first rd

With all the issues on defense, you want to draft another RB early?
His patience and ellusiveness are very good and very rare among most RBs. If we can stout up our O-line, he could be a beast for years to come!

GO JAGS!!

I was wrong. He looks great. Glad we got him.
