If Shalala knew Al Golden is a litterbox quality coach, she was dumb to hire him. And what about that contract extension after it was already clear Miami needs to go a different direction?

How could Miami have been the most dominant team over a 25 year span with those poor facilities! !!???

Better yet, ask yourself why Miami went from that 25 year span of domination to not having a Bowl game win since 2006 with those same facilities.

She ended up allowing him to be given an extension through 2020, what are you talking about?

I am still shocked at the firing. I thought based on that 2020 contract alone he'd see at least 3 more of those years. Now they eat that. The new president has already stated he wants academics over athletics, including football. He wants the focus there. What is he going to pay the next guy? Is it a mid tier guy, or will he swallow what he said and go pay someone?

It's easy to give extensions when you're on the way out the door as well. Golden was Terrible. Worst coach ever... well, except for Gus Bradley.

How long ago was that? Adding Larry Coker and Butch Davis does not equal 25 years.

Let's not forget though that this was also approved by not only her, but the people who ultimatley fired her too.

It only takes one person to fire a head coach. That person usually is the athletic director. So why do the people who fired Shalala matter?
