Quote:Both the safety and RB need help to be successful. The safety needs a good pass rush and the RB needs a good Oline. We have neither.
I think DLine needs to be the pick at 4 with a RB later in round 3. The Oline needs to be addressed in FA. A B+ running back would be just fine if the OLine is addressed.
And what you just wrote can be used against you when it comes to RB. What would a pro bowl RB do that a very good RB wouldn't be able to do?
I'd be happier with Fournette than Adams, but that's just me.
I agree, I'd prefer DL should be the pick and if not, certainly later. That's why it's a Taco thread.
If we trade down, land Taco, and pick up extra players... I'm happy with that, too.
Quote:True, but its not like Hooker is awful at tackling, Adams is just better at it. I'd prefer the playmaker with average tackling.
"A word of caution on Malik Hooker: over his final eight games, he had as many missed tackles as he did defensive stops (9)."
Quote:Hooker is literally better at everything except sure tackling.
From what i have read Adams is the ultimate leader of a defense. He def doesnt hit harder than Adams either
Quote:He looks like a Bengals DE all day
We could use them.
Or what they had in NY, too.
I like the idea of a stable of fresh ends and constant pressure. It's not like teams rotate OT to keep them fresh.
Pummel. Destroy.

Hooker was also only the starter for one season right?

That's why I want Garrett Allen or Thomas.
Let's have a dominant from 7 and let Ramsey and Bouye make plays.

So, are we selective with our cutups, film, and performances, or are we to consider it all?
There were plenty of valid concerns about a particular QB that you selectively dismissed, and that QB is currently rehabbing and his future is uncertain. We must be careful what we choose/choose not to consider. We must not choose our outcome first then select backing facts, we must let the facts guide us to a bigger conclusion where anecdotes are not deciding factors for or against. Despite this, many still do have Hooker graded the best safety over Adams.
A thread about a DE became about SS. Jesus.

Can we try this again and make it intelligible this time?
Quote:Hooker is like A+ in half the game and C or D in the other half, albeit the less important half obviously. Adams is an A and A.
I disagree with Adams being an A in both, but to each his own. Seems like a jack of all trades master of none type to me. Hooker would strike more fear in offenses.
Quote:"A word of caution on Malik Hooker: over his final eight games, he had as many missed tackles as he did defensive stops (9)."
Still don't think he's an awful tackler, I mean he is an FS, its not like he's going to be laying people out on the field. Also say what you want about Hooker's tackling, but I've never seen him get ragdolled like Adams did against that freshman rb from Arkansas.

There are people saying if Adams had been a full time corner he would be the CB1 in this class. Like those two, among others. He's pretty close to a master of all type.

I'm with @PFF_Josh on this: Jamal Adams could make the Jalen Ramsey switch to CB with ease. Some freakishly good reps at slot CB on tape

Those NY pass rushers were fun to watch. OTs never got a break and had to adjust to different styles of pass rusher constantly.
Come the 4th quarter it was easy pickings.
Sooo, yeah, that Taco guy...

He can play pretty much any position in the secondary and do well. I did see him get burned a couple times in the slot though due to his technique of turning around, but guessing that can be coached.

Quote:Oh yeah. ...that guy is good. ...but really over Allen and Thomas?
No.
Only Taco in a trade down.
I don't think he'd be in play at 4. Maybe if we traded back in that 10-12 range.
