Quote:That also typically draws a holding call... so, yeah.  Not a great example.  He got beat, AND Held, and just happened to get away with it that time?

I'd offer up a cookie, but it appears Ice Cream is more the thing around these parts.

Perhaps a compromise?

LOL, fair enough!

You're right, it would usually get a holding call...  But, in my mind, I like to think that LJ used this ju jitzu move so well that the ref just though he got pancaked, when in fact, LJ is just a great martial arts expert who was using the DE's momentum against himself.

But I concede your point.  I just thought it was nice to see that LJ didn't give up on the play, even though it was obvious that he was beat.

To me that is just part of being an offensive lineman. When you are beat you do whatever you have to (including holding/tripping/whatever) to keep the guy from hitting your QB. If the refs catch you so be it, often times they don't see your illegal tactic so it's worth it.

He's still working on things but you cannot deny he has improved. Anybody that says otherwise is simply refusing to accept the facts because they have some personal problem with Joeckel.
How many sacks has he given up this year?  He has played in 6 games and can't recall more than once of him giving up a sack.

He has looked better I have hardly noticed in games LJs man all up in Bortles grill it seems to always come from Beadles guy

He's probably credited with a few. He was beat bad my Mercilus last week for one I believe. I think he was credited with giving up another in the Bucs games but it was Bortles' fault IMO, he tried to bail out of the pocket and ran right into the Bucs defender.

Mercilus' inside spin move last week was the first and only sack he has been faulted for so far this year.
On that goaline stand he got planted on his butt again. Pretty sure it happened twice on Sunday.

Besides his tendency to get steamrolled on occasion he is playing halfway decent.
Yep
Never agreed with taking a tackle top 5 in the draft and we got burnt for doing it with this soft dud named The Joke. He's looked better but that's coming from when he use to look like pure [BLEEP] and throw up mixed in a toilet. Don't trust him protecting the franchise quarterback at all.
I got to admit he's getting better, getting better all the time, couldn't get no worse.

He's improved. Outside of the Buccaneers game I think he redeemed himself in his first match-up against Watt and company in that tinhorn loss and I don't recall him getting beat too much in that Buffalo game. I remember Williams getting a sack though. Just can't remember if it was on Luke or Jeremy there.

Parnell whiffed, big time.
I think he has improved.  First round talent?  Nah, but I believe he will end up being a solid player for years.

Seems about right.
The fact that PFF gives beadles a better score than luke completely just discredits those numbers and is kinda useless to use as an assessment. As much as people love to fault luke, he has played decently. He hasn't been great but much better than beadles. People need to stop using these grades as gospel because they have been known to be very inaccurate.

This was my favorite part of the article.

The second pick

Quote:Similar to Fisher, I don’t believe in taking lineman this high

The third pick

Quote: Jonathan Martin was never going to be the answer, and Bryant McKinnie was just a stop gap. You wouldn’t need to spend big on Branden Albert with Terron Armstead on the roster.

Never take a tackle with the second pick. The Dolphins should have taken a tackle with the third pick.
A little bit but Eugene Monroe was better when he was here.

Hahahahaha, that's hilarious. His redraft picks are awful all the way around.

Maybe slightly at best. He's been romanticized by a segment of Jaguar fans since he was traded away. He has been a bust in Baltimore. He's been oft injured. And when he has played, he has not been good.
