If the team could remain HEALTHY with Blake Bortles improving it is possible that both Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson will break the 1000 yard mark this season, and now with a healthy TE Thomas in the mix, Robinson back and once Lee is back healthy it could be a great new begining era of passing in Jacksonville.
No. Talent-wise, Hurns and A-Rob don't hold a candle to Jimmy Smith. They both look really good, and Hurns looks special at times, but the team still needs a game-breaking #1 to put the passing offense over the top.

Jimmy Smith's stats

1995   22 Rec, 288 Yards, 13.1 yards per reception, 3 TDs, 12 First Downs

1996 83 Rec, 1,244 Yards, 15 Yards Per Reception, 7 TDs, 60 First Downs

1997 82 Rec, 1,324 Yards, 16.1 YPR, 4 Tds, 64 First downs

==================================================

Allen Hurns Stats:

2014 51 Rec, 677 Yards, 13.3 Yards Per Reception, 6 TDs

2015 27 Rec, 430 Yards, 15.9 YPR, 3 TDs (season still has 11 more games to go)

To be fair you might have that view because you remember Jimmy Smith's whole career while Hurns & Robinson are just getting started in their 2nd year...

Agreed to all. Caldwell and Bradley has put together one heck of an roster just for starters. When/If everyone can sustain health, the sky is the limit for our offense. BB5 is materializing into our Franchise Caliber QB that's much needed for this type of success. When all of the pieces of this puzzle are in place, this team will be electrifying as I'm sincerely anticipating.

Nice Stat Complilation BTW...

NH3...

If AR15 and Hurns play as long as J-Smooth did, they'll compare to say the least. I sincerely believe so. I too am biast because he was the Jaguar Icon for many of the Early Years to which most of us has known but if we don't have an receiver that tops his stats. We're in trouble. Brunell and Garrard falls into this same catagory as well...

NH3...
If you take out the RBs and TEs, other then Thunder and Lightning, that is one sad list of WRs, except for the 2 current Allens.

I knew CS3 didn't have a lot of TDs, but I didn't realize he only averaged 3TDs a yr. I have to believe he would have more then 12 had it not been for injuries and just awful QB play.

Well at least now the Jags have some above average WRs on the roster. Still could use a real true #1 WR, but they are a lot better off then they have been, especially after looking at that list.

If M. Lewis could be the receiving TE we had all hoped he would be when he was first drafted in the 1st round, and have a really healthy TE Thomas & WR Lee back along with the Oline improving & decent running this offense could have the potential of being a top 10 Offense this year.

The following from SportsWorldReport via http://www.sportsworldreport.com/article...otball.htm

Allen Hurns/Allen Robinson (Wide Receivers):

The Texans have been pretty good covering wide receivers but Hurns and Robinson are not just your usual wide receivers.

The success this duo has had in the fantasy world coupled with the fact that they are Jacksonville Jaguars is extremely surprising.

Hurns has had more than 50 yards in every game this season and has had a touchdown in each of the last 3 games.

Robinson has been the main number 1 wide receiver and has 1 more touchdown than Hurns, unfortunately for him Julius Thomas has returned from injury and will likely eat some of his targets.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Blackmon would have Shattered Jimmy Smith's records with todays passing fest.

It don't matter now, Jimmy is and always will be the best.
Jimmy Smith is easily the best Jags WR of all time - however, I do think that Hurns and AR15 are going to be a dynamic duo for years to come, as long as they can avoid the Jags penchant for injuries.

If only Lee could stay healthy...

Btw, corps.
Nice stat post. If we can stay healthy I do believe we have a very solid foundation so far. I do believe we need to grow.

Please elaborate. Because Robinson is balling out right now. And I didnt even mention Hurns

Why not core?

a basic, essential, or enduring part (as of an individual, a class, or an entity) <span><the staff had a core of experts></span>

Allen Robinson jumping catch is sick, the OLine simply needs to give Bortles more time to throw & the Allen Co. can produce!

Never understood why people get so bent out of shape calling it a core or corps either. It's basically the same thing.
ProFootballFocus recently ranked Allen Hurns #10 among all WRs in the NFL with 83.7!

I am no English major but seems as if either word could be used in regards to WR core/corps.

Allen Hurns is ranked 15 by Pro Football Focus in regards to the WR's that are least likely to drop a pass, he had 35 targets, 27 RECs out of 28 catchable passes (1 drop).  They had Allen Robinson & Allen Hurns as the best player out of every position for week 5 for WRs (only WRs listed).

Allen Hurns was ranked 11th out of yards per route last year he was ranked 70th.

According to PFF they have Allen Hurns as graded higher than Allen Robinson in talent.
imagine if we also had amari cooper. someone call triple A
