And it continues...
Quote:Wait a sec you guys are so dumb. Can he at least get the numbers in question first? You idiots act as if it's already happened. Besides numbers mean nothing if he can't win. But to be fair Gus may be holding him back. But I guess we'll never know with all the Gus love around here.

My post had very little to do with you, sir. I find it amusing that HIGH SCORE is not letting the Blaine Bortles thing go, hence the pit pull reference. I don't agree with your stance here, mind you, but I was not poking fun at you directly.

I guess you couldn't answer my question. Just like you to be giddy over some empty stats. That's all you and your crew of misfits want. You want stats and national attention and fantasy accolades. Some of us want winners. I know where you stand. Go sit in the corner now. Bye.

My bad then. Nuff said.

You da man. Guess you told me.

Whatever. Old act is old.

All good, man.

I would like to add though that your previous post to Rico is somewhat disingenuous, although I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and say I don't think it's intentional. However, since when is 300yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT empty? Blake did everything within his power and within reason to help us win that game. It's hardly his fault that everything else around him decided to leave the field at the half.

Additionally, as has been denoted elsewhere, outside of NE, none of his stats have come from garbage time. This, to me, says we have a QB who is largely playing well on a team that is otherwise really, really bad.
I said I'm not buying it and the pumpers come out and says I'm not for him. Progressing he is but if he stinks it up this game the excuse will be its his shoulder instead of he's not there yet to where this gushing is coming from. I'm a UCF football supporter even with money so it's no other qb I'm rooting for more than Bortles especially since he's playing for the team I've supported since 95. Hell my brother in law went to Oviedo High and is friends with him. But I don't give a damn if you don't like I'm skeptical of anything this franchise does since it can't put a product on the field that should be proud of to save their lives. Hope Bortles is a HOF at his retirement just not ready to say he's the answer yet til I see more of what he did Sunday.

You do realize that there are probably 2, maybe 3, QBs in the entire league who can put those kind of numbers up week in and week out?

Let's not forget what Bortles is surrounded with. Don't expect 4 TD's to be the norm, at least not this year, with the amount of young players and unproven talent surrounding Bortles.

Oh, and what if his shoulder does affect his game? We wouldn't know unless they came out and said it did or not - even then, they probably wouldn't disclose that unless he got benched or injured.

This is why I said his stats are encouraging. I'm not bashing just to bash. I actually believe that he needs and hopefully can do much better. He needs to cut down on the 3 and outs and see the field better. He's missing wide open receivers and also not throwing with touch. He looks then he falls off. He's inconsistent. He seems to improve but then he throws a pass right at a guy with space to return. It's maddening. We're lucky he hasn't thrown 3 more pick sixes. But at the same token he could've and should've taken over the clots game but couldn't. Multiple over thrown balls to arob really hurt. It should've never come down to a field goal. As for Tampa that last td was with the game pretty much out of reach. But blame that loss more on Gus. I mean punting it with 7 mins left when our defense couldn't stop them and bortles could've had an opportunity to lead a comeback and Gus stole it from him. If you really want to see bortles improve and win Gus needs to go. Blake is being held back no doubt.

Damn. Isn't that the truth.

What has this team shown us in the past 5+ years that gives us the idea that they know what they're doing? Blake does indeed look good but if there is one franchise that could screw it up, it's this team.
Quote:How the heck I'm I dancing? Please tell me. I said the numbers that a poster was projecting would be encouraging. How the hell is that dancing? Seriously you guys really need to take a step back did bortles make the probowl already and I missed it? Regardless what you bums think if he improves and wins I'll gladly celebrate him. But stats are only a part of it and so far much of his stats are empty.

Oh I get it now you only communicate through pictures. What a dope you can't even retort. You don't have the guts to either way. That's why you attack one little typo and run with it. I'm done with you.

He doesnt have to put up 4 td's every week but be the reason your team wins like a top 3 quarterback or franchise one is supposed to. In the game he put 4 they still didn't win. You say what he's surrounded with and to me it looks like two good receivers with a pro bowl tight end and an ok rb to this point. Yeah to me he's strapped up with adequate weapons to get it done.

I was just responding to his post.

Don't get your panties in a wad kiddo.

My issue is that some folks are acting like he's stinking it up now and that's patently false to anyone with a functional pair of eyes and a modicum of football IQ. There is a mid-ground here: Blake (and the Allens) is progressing nicely but it's up to the other pieces around him to pick up the pace and catch up. That's pretty much where I am now.

And you think that a SECOND-YEAR QB with basically a season worth of games started should be a TOP 3 QB....

Get your head out of your [BLEEP]. I'm serious.

He does have two good receivers and a "pro-bowl" TE (who came from an offense led by a HOF QB that has played for more than a decade). Don't forget how porous the offensive line is with the pass-blocking.

Don't get me wrong, he has to continue to improve... But for you to have these delusional and gaudy expectations to be a top 3 QB, with the issues plaguing this team this year (i.e. coaching mishaps, etc), is completely asinine.
Quote:Still not buying him yet. I've watched the games and seen him without just looking at his numbers. He put up 4 td's against a defense that let a rookie on his 1st day in the league put up the same amount. Wasn't impressed in the Carolina game or the New England one. The Colts one he didn't standout either. Only thing I can say is he looks way better than last year. The gushing is funny from the board. Looking for a diamond in a toliet full of [BAD WORD REMOVED] that's the Jaguars.

The quarterback often has a big influence over whether their team wins or loses, but he's not the ONLY guy on the team. The offense scored 31 points on the road on Sunday. Out of the 28 teams playing in week 5, only 4 (Bucs, Eagles, Browns and Cardinals) scored more points.
