Quote:What? He's on pace for ~4,157 yds which is ~1,249 yards more than he had last year.

Hopefully he plays this week then...
Quote:In regards to Corey Grant's fumble, which I know you weren't refering to but to address it, look at the play as he was catching the ball (meaning before it was thrown) he had two TB defensive guys starting to hit him... he's a rookie RB that didnt get a lot of practice time on that play.. i mean sure Corey shouldve caught it and simply landed on it you cant turn those over... but people need to give the undrafted rookie a bit of slack it was a bad play call & bad choice for Blake to toss it at that point to him...
People often down play the impact of a RB that has good pass protection skills.

What we saw with the Grant play was one of the consequences of not having good pass protection skills. The fact that Grant isn't known for his ability to pass protect was a key for the defense to expect a running play. They saw Grant, knew the play was going to him, and blew it up.

Some people think that a RB just needs running skills, but a back with multiple skills can help keep a defense honest.

I'm pretty sure he got a few snaps that he didn't get the ball so it's not a dead giveaway.

Please. Play had nothing to do with Blake. Luke Joeckel whiffed on another block. What else is new?

As a single back?

The defense sure did key on it like a dead giveaway.
Quote:He absolutely did have Dez like ability. Was better than him at OSU and his rookie numbers were also better. Maybe not quite as big and fast as Dez but just as physical and had better hands.

He was also better than Hurns at every aspect of the position besides having a functioning brain off the field. There is a reason JB was a 2x All American and a top 5 pick whereas Hurns wasn't drafted.

I see...

Just like there's a reason Trent Richardson went 3rd overall and Arian Foster went undrafted.

Blackmon had a few big games but barely caught 50% of passes coming his way.

According to Lageman, the missed block was attributable to Clay Harbor, not Joeckel.
Quote:uh, no. none of the games have had garbage time other than the patriots game and only one TD came off that.
last 2 tds against the pats and the last one against tampa, call it what you want they were meaningless tds.  the lost wasnt his fault, he played a great game.  he keeps getting better each week and thats what i pay attention to the most. after 5 weeks, hes been the best sophomore qb.  cant wait until he gets a real #1 wr

Well. It was the TE that actually missed the block. Is that new enough?
Quote:Enjoy it while it lasts, I'm sure Bortles is counting the days to free agency. He will ditch this dumpster fire the first opportunity he gets. It's his dream to play for an actual NFL team, but unfortunately he was drafted by the Jags.
First off Franchise tag means no he can't. Second, he is from Central Florida! Why would he want to leave the Jags, they are his hometown team basically...
Quote:I remember laughing when Boselli predicted Bortles to throw 32 touchdowns this season.

With the continued emergence of the Allens, Julius' integration into the offense, and the game slowing down for Bortles, he might be right.

He's thrown 10 over 5 games. Bortles is on pace for exactly 32 TDs this year. Kinda freaky.

A blind person can see the progress of BB5. He's light years ahead of where he was this time last season. An stark indication of such is just how hard the NFL Network's NFL Fantasy Show is pushing for him to be picked up by more fantasy players due to his success on the field. He ranked #6 of all QBs of I'm not mistaken...

Progress, Flat out Progress...

This isn't the NBA. This rarely happens in the NFL, specifically with regard to franchise quarterbacks.

Nah....

QBs especially like to stay with their teams, get the big guaranteed bucks, and become a star that leads the franchise from the dumps to glory.

If Bortles is playing well, we're likely not too bad around him.

QBs that move on, tend to be injured, aged, or failed QBs....
Blake wouldn't leave even if he could (which he won't be able to because of the franchise tag as stated before).  He grew up less than two hours away and wants to help turn this thing around and win in Jacksonville.
