I don't give a [BLEEP] who has the best of the three. If they all have great careers, I'll be happy to have one.

Why can't you play the damn game correctly?

I'm drunk.

That works
Quote:Of course every QB has defenders drop INTs. That was my point, that EVERY QB has tipped passes that become INTs that aren't their fault, WR running bad routes or dropping passes, poor pass protection, and everything else. The point is sometimes you have to call it for what it is, and Bortles is not very good. The fact that he is even being reasonably compared to a rookie (who looks like an obvious bust) doesn't speak well of his ability and performance.
this guy is a titans fan btw

Lol this is [BLEEP] priceless. Thanks for the laugh.

Regarding the stats, not sure why you have such an issue with just comparing all the numbers for this year. Seems the most fair way to compare versus slicing and dicing, regardless of the sample size.
Bortles started 14 of 16 1st half against colts. 6 of 7 to start the 2nd half. 8 of 25 to end the game.

I've always thought JW and BB would have similar numbers this year. JW getting the edge. Next season Bortles would take step beyond Winston.

So you're saying the Jaguars adjusted to the adjustments. Then adjusted out of adjustments?
Cmon man...they don't suck!

Do ya'll know that jamesis winston has alot of garbage time during the 4 games this season?

What?! Come on they were in that Tennessee and Carolina game for a whole 5 minutes!
Quote:BB needs to get his completion percentage up about 10%

Agreed here. If there one area that's strikingly lacking with Bortles it's his completion percentage. While drops factor in here, this just won't cut it. Gabbert often had a completion percentage below 50 percent. In an effort to see where he should be at I looked at starters around the league and concluded that the absolute minimum to be an effective starter is 59 percent. 54 percent isn't quite cutting it, and I realize it's not all him and that drops are part of it.

Looking around the league so far this year, the top guys in this category like Roethlisberger and Romo are around 75 percent. Half of the starters in the league are at 65 percent or more. Another dozen starters taper down from there between a 60 to 64 percent completion percentage. Then it gets ugly with a few just below 58 percent, namely Clausen, Tannehill and surprisingly Luck. Below them is a group of guys right around 55 percent with Newton, Winston, Hoyer and Bortles. The only qbs with a worse completion percentage than Bortles are Manziel and Mallet.

If Bortles can get his percentage from out among the bottom of the barrel to say an average-looking 61 percent, this offense would look so much better.

Of note... last year even during Blake's porous rookie season he finished with an average completion percentage right on par with what I'm saying should be an absolute minimum of 59 percent. His average for 2014 was 58.9 percent. There's no reason he should have regressed from this number. He needs to have improved from this number. Again it's not just him as the drops have to stop, but we really need to be seeing this stat go up considerably and soon. In this last game he was at 56 percent which is actually an improvement from prior weeks, so let's hope this number keeps going up. To this end, the team can seriously use Julius in the line-up. It's a finger. Come on already!

The drops are not really any different than last year. The difference is the level of difficulty on his throws. Most of the second half of last year he never passed more than like 5 yards from the LOS. This year he is taking a ton more shots downfield and just tougher throws in general. So it's not like he has regressed in accuracy since last year. He does need to get the percentage up to the 60 mark however.
He was 14 of 18 on the first half at Indy. So the accuracy is there, just seems to fall off when the offense stalls. Correlation?
Also let's not forget he still is working on his mechanic as we speak so sometimes its mechanics can be out of shape as he throwing the ball
Wait a second here.  Your showing one tale of the tape.  Forgetting about Crablegs receivers Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson.  Vs A rob and Hurns.  While the latter is showing flashes Robinson and Periodically Flashes. Hurns.   Evans made tebow 2.0 in johnny football better then he was and Jackson was a high coveted FA,  It is easy to talk numbers with out supporting cast.

I've seen/heard a lot about Winston not being very good and that should help the Jags win this weekend.  However, the stats are very similar for both players.  I don't think either team has a real advantage over the other.

But nice try.

Not to mention 2 garbage time games compared to one half for Jax
