You realize it's not Trumps budget yet right?

He'll believe any fake news he can get his hands on.
One could argue that along with the end of the FY retiring debt, the increased revenue sparked by the POTUS's new and proposed policies did in fact, reduce debt. With that said, not really anything to get excited about until after the FY2017 budget resolution gets signed. Then we'll get a feel for what is to come. The positive, at least it didn't rise!

This really just shows the nation how ignorant Donny Trump is to the way government works.
OP Is a liar
lol politifake is funny.

They admit it went down, but still give it a false because it might go back up.

Oh. I thought they dissed it because they understood the difference between correlation and causation.

Trump's policies may not be in full swing, but that doesn't mean a Trump Presidency isn't influencing the economy.

OK, but are you saying that you believe that the decrease in the national debt was due to or significantly altered by Trump being President?
Just another great example of how a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth can get its pants on.

"Keith Hennessey, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, wrote in his hypothetical memo to Congress that Trump was technically correct that the national debt decreased by $19.6 billion from Jan. 20 to Feb. 23. Hennessey, however, added that if Trump had "ended his timeframe one day earlier this tweet would have been invalid and debt would have increased" by $1 billion in “the first month.” He said this is why "analysts look at debt on an annual basis.""

"The former NEC director also wrote that it was "more concerning" that the tweet shows Trump continues to rely on TV rather than his advisers.

"Until his staff figure out a way to ensure he doesn’t make such easily rebutted claims, you should not echo the president’s economic arguments or claims without first verifying both their accuracy and substantive merit," Hennessey wrote. "This unfortunate situation will persist as long as President Trump continues to take his numbers and policy arguments from TV pundits rather than from Mr. Cohn, Director Mulvaney, and Secretary Mnuchin.""

Why not just say Mostly True then?

It was technically true. So its mostly false?

Politifake either shouldn't have made a comment on it, or labeled it what it was. Sounds like mental gymnastics and agenda give Trump another negative rating.

Indy's right, we're currently working under Obama's budget.  Maybe Trump will stop tweeting for enough time to propose one of his own.

In 2009, we were working under Bush 43's budget at the time, too, and undergoing the steps to mitigate the financial crisis - which I have no problem with.  It's like no one remembers just how bad things were 8 years ago.

Kinda cools the rhetoric on Donald inheriting "a mess."

That went smooth.

It's technically true.

So someone cherry-picked a very specific time period when the national debt actually went  down, then they went on Fox News and talked about it, and Trump was watching Fox and decided he wasn't getting enough credit for reducing the national debt.   So he complained about it in a tweet.   This is like some kind of comedy show.

Seriously, what kind of national leader gets all his information from watching TV?    And complains that he's not getting enough praise, for stuff he's not even responsible for?

It's akin to drafting players based on Mayocks rankings and not your own evaluation. The fact that he consistently tweets the same information that was just spouted on Fox News is bizarre, but they did say he likes his tv programs and movie watching -___-

In 2009 we were under Obama's budget. Bush never signed a 2009 budget, he left it for the next president.

This is what I got from Wikipedia:

"The <b>United States federal budget for fiscal year 2009</b> began as a spending request submitted by President George W. Bush to the 110th Congress. The final resolution written and submitted by the 110th Congress to be forwarded to the President was approved by the House on June 5, 2008.[5] The final spending bills for the budget were not signed into law until March 11, 2009 by President Barack Obama, nearly five and a half months after the fiscal year began"
