One could argue that along with the end of the FY retiring debt, the increased revenue sparked by the POTUS's new and proposed policies did in fact, reduce debt. With that said, not really anything to get excited about until after the FY2017 budget resolution gets signed. Then we'll get a feel for what is to come. The positive, at least it didn't rise!

Indy's right, we're currently working under Obama's budget.  Maybe Trump will stop tweeting for enough time to propose one of his own.

 

In 2009, we were working under Bush 43's budget at the time, too, and undergoing the steps to mitigate the financial crisis - which I have no problem with.  It's like no one remembers just how bad things were 8 years ago. 

 

Kinda cools the rhetoric on Donald inheriting "a mess."

So someone cherry-picked a very specific time period when the national debt actually went  down, then they went on Fox News and talked about it, and Trump was watching Fox and decided he wasn't getting enough credit for reducing the national debt.   So he complained about it in a tweet.   This is like some kind of comedy show. 

 

Seriously, what kind of national leader gets all his information from watching TV?    And complains that he's not getting enough praise, for stuff he's not even responsible for?
