Cut Myers now and meet Scobee at JIA with a new contract.
That was some terrible kicking. You have to make ONE of those FGs. The team played too hard to lose that way.

Myers is a placeholder
Myers is basically Seth Marler or Hayden Epstein #bringbackscobee
Quote:Myers is a straight BUM! U get paid millions of dollors and have one job, you failed 2 Times!! Every other kicker would've made a 48 yrd, and most would make a 53, smdh....

To be fair, he doesn't make millions.
The kid crapped his pants.
Rookie kicker trying to win a game against a very bad team at the last second of the game...

C'mon, this game should have been over at the end of the 3rd if our coaches were doing their job.

Don't blame the kid, he is not THE reason of this pathetic game.

Good thing we wore black pants.

I mean that's what he's paid to do. He had not one, but two chances to go down in Jags history and choked.

Jason Myers is being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to hit a ball with his foot and make it go between a pair of sticks. That is his essential job function. If he can't do that when it counts, the team needs a new kicker. I don't care if Myers is 25-of-30; if those five kicks he missed were pressure kicks that cost us games, he should go.
Myers scored seven points. The offense only scored six. While the kicker needs to make at least one of those kicks at the end, this loss is on the offense.

Good teams score touchdowns.

Dear old Gus didn't want to admit that his wonderful kicker is as reliable as a blind midget sniper in the middle east.
Just another young unreliable player this team is built on. Caldwell really took the worst route possible in building (tearing down) a team.
I still can't believe the choice was between Scobee, who has since been released by the Steelers, and Myers.

This is like last year when the center competition was initially between Brewster and McClendon.

Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick

As for Myers in specific, this team is awful. They're not going to the playoffs (unless they somehow manage a 6-10 record, which might be enough to win the division), and if they do make the playoffs, they'll get destroyed in the first round anyway. So, what does that have to do with Myers? Just keep him. He's got a big leg. Maybe by the end of the season he'll figure things out and be able to channel the power into some better accuracy. It's not like he's really bringing down a playoff-team here or anything. Let him finish the season and see if you can get that powerful leg to be accurate. He has already made a 58 yarder, and he had the distance on all his kicks today. Maybe he can still be salvaged, and this would be the season to see if he can be.

Got a better idea, that has some long term value?

Bring in a veteran kicker who can help this team beat the worst of the worst in the NFL so we can all feel warm and fuzzy inside and pretend the team is actually good for a couple weeks?

Might as well see if the team has anything in Myers now that we know this is another wasted season.
it was only 2 missed fgs that counted. the first one colts called timeout, and he got kick over.

TBH, kicker is the least of our concerns. We can find a kicker anywhere.

Most teams wouldve scored a TD and not needed to win with their FG kicker...
