End of topic/
Yuuuup.
Garrard

I wanted this dude to start before he ever really got his shot.

I believed he could take us all the way.... he almost did....

and what might have been, could have been, quickly turned into a whole lot of people saying "I told you so"

A little part of me will always believe if he ever had a true #1 WR we might have.

I like David.

Was he a world beater? No  But he rarely gave the ball away.

I always used the term, "3rd and Garrard" on the short 2 yards and in.  That dude was NEVER stuffed!!!

Which Garrard were you watching?

Dude was a turnover machine lol

Except the one season where he missed a couple games and had like 3 INTs all season.
Quote:The second round picked selected for his return abilities. Went on to be a probowl player and put Jacksonville in the national spotlight.

MJD

Oh, this was supposed to be a negative post? Nevermind..

MJD and Taylor were the best of all time in my book.Wonder why we did so good in 2007?

Which Garrard were *you* watching?  In his worst year, he had 15 INTs.  Of course that was the same year he set the Jaguars TD record.
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The player you were convinced, "This is his week!" And you said this almost every week but never came through, time and time again:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Derrick Harvey Not Gabbert. By late in the first season I was already pretty sure that Gabbert was a bust. A QB shouldn't curl up into a fetal ball every time he sees a pass rush.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The Jag you argued with your buddies about.  They saw the writing on the wall but your love affair clouded your judgement:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Matt Jones He was terrific in the Senior Bowl, and ran a sub 4.4 40. I thought that would eventually show up in his play. Maybe it would have if he had any dedication.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Injuries laid waste to his success:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Byron Leftwich He was progressing nicely and playing like a true franchise QB in 2005. He never recovered after his injury.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The "Diamond in the Rough" rookie that had your eye in camp.  He's going to be a star...smh!:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Alvis Whitted He had no trouble catching Jamie Martin's floaters, but Brunell's heavier passes were too much for him.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The draft pick that raised your heart rate only to flatline his career:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Fernando Bryant Great rookie year. Then the opposing teams discovered that he never looked back for the ball.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The Saviour Free Agent that would push the Jags over the edge. Instead, he was a shell of himself:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Carnell Lake He actually made the Pro Bowl in 1999, but it was mostly on reputation. By 2000 he was finished.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Let me add that IMO Tavian Banks was not the special player everyone here makes him out to be. Had he not been injured he would have been a useful change of pace back and kick returner, similar to Jordan Todman.

That is the problem with that injury and when it occurred, we were just starting to see the speed and him getting on the same page as Brunell.  It is a case of the wow was there but would it have been sustained?

With Tavian, you wouldn't miss much of a step with Taylor on the shelf.  Banks would have been a back up with starting quality to shoulder the load.

The Garrard that came in to "save the day" when Leftwich went down... only to throw like 3 INTs against the tacks to pretty much eliminate us from  playoffs.

I was referring to his knack for always throwing clutch INTs... not so much that he had 20 plus. That's my bad.

He was only the starter for like 4 full seasons

in his last, he had 15 in 14 games.

his best year, the one that earned him the big bucks, he only had 3 but also sat out 4 games.

In 09 he lost 8 fumbles along with 10 INTs

in 06, he had 9 in 11 games. I think this is the year he caughed up 3 INTs in a  game we were winning VS the tacks.

and we lost the final two games that season. 8-5 with 3 games to go and that dude choked it away.

Despite that... I wanted him as "the guy" the very next season.

And I was his biggest supporter for the next 3 seasons....
Quote:This is the same guy that came up with this riveting topic....So there's that.

So yoU like ol Balls Out then?
Quote:So I ask you...Which of our Jags, Past & Present broke your heart over and over?

*** PLEASE COPY/PASTE THE FORMAT BELOW AND SHOW YOUR CHOICES ***

The player you were convinced, "This is his week!" And you said this almost every week but never came through, time and time again:

Blaine Gabbert

Injuries laid waste to his success:

Tavian Banks

The "Diamond in the Rough" rookie that had your eye in camp.  He's going to be a star...smh!:

Eben Britton

The Mini-Camp Darling that disappeared as quickly as you fell for him:

Mike Sims-Walker

The Jag that left Jacksonville for greener pastures. He's now my enemy!:

Justin Blackmon (See what I did there...)

You got me offense, definitely had me fooled.

That being said, its not OFTEN that our offense compares to one that wouldnt be able to score 20 on a college team's defense.

I was a Gene Smtih apologist and after the Ravens game in 2010 I was more convinced than ever we where about to break through.

The way I felt burned after smiths 4 year plan fell flat is probably a big reason I'm not nearly as patient with this regime. Last time around we where consistently told don't panic it's a 4 year plan, don't worry in year 3 we still suck by year 4 it'll all be worth it.
A great place to take a vacation!

If I was just 92% healthy I could have made a difference.

With the 10th pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select, Dan Willson, Punter from NW Atlanta Community College.
