According to Gruden via PFT.
Gruden believes "Watson body of work is as impressive as any quarterback we’ve had come through QB Camp."
<b>And also says, though many questions that have yet to be answered. The process is exciting. </b>
<b>Could Gruden be right and many experts wrong? About this being a weak qb class?</b>
So that's the reason why he isn't coaching anymore. He's crazy!
Gruden loves every QB he's ever seen, besides Jay Cutler.
That completely depends on where these kids end up getting drafted. Personally. I don't think any of them are worth a high first round pick.
Trubisky doesn't have enough starting experience for me to feel comfortable enough in San Francisco or Chicago to take him that high.
Mahomes has the right size, speed and arm strength that you want to see in a QB but is he a product of Texas Tech's wild offensive scheme?
Watson had an impressive game against Alabama but his body of work does raise some eyebrows when you look at his high interception rates. That's going to need to be toned back.
Kizer I keep seeing thrown around here and there but I've seen this kid play a few times and I was not impressed at all. He was even benched at one point for poor play.
Those are your big four listed above. Personally. I think teams should be patient and wait it out. This QB class reeks of 2011 again. Accept I don't see a Cam Newton in this class worthy of being selected in the top ten.
I think we're looking at a bunch of Locker's , Ponder's and Gabbert's in this class. All of these kids are the type to sit and develop. And 9 times out of 10 when a QB goes early they're more than likely going to be thrown into the fire before they're ready.
There's really only two or three QB's I'd be happy with if Coughlin and Co. decided to pick one up in day three of the draft. I'd say between RD3 - RD5. These three QB's below could be developed nice and easy and turn out better than those big four above.
Davis Webb out of California
Jerod Evans out of Virginia Tech
Chad Kelly out of Ole' Miss
Take any of those three guys and let them sit for the next year or two to develop and learn the system. I think they can be decent starters. Kelly I am a little bit concerned with. But Webb and Evans would be fine choices.
Chad Kelly was not invited to the combine because of off-field issues, so you can forget about him.
In NFL.com's Ask 5 series, AFC personnel questioned Mitch Trubisky's ability to lead a team. They want to know why he was the backup for two years.
In that statement he points out precisely what's wrong with this QB class.
Very bad year to need a franchise QB.

That's what I think about this class, too. Nearly point for point.
The media said last year that Wentz and Goff were amazing prospects. Goff would be QB #5 or #6 this year. Wentz would be at best #3.
Watch the media start to push this class after the combine
Question is, knowing what we know now, where would Bortles rank in this class?

You have to be kidding.
Wentz would lead the class this year (just as he should have last year if they hadn't fallen for Goff without reason.)
And, it wasn't because he was amazing. It was because he was the better of the mediocre.
Sure, some scouts touted them that way. That's the danger of putting too much into the TwitterScoutsTM and others who fall way too hard for QBs year after year.
"Calling" a QB is the way to make your "name" among their circles.
Take not a grain, but a shaker full of salt every year with the QB evaluations.

Wentz would not be QB#1 this year for me.
Wentz and Goff weren't just a twitter scout thing they were highly regarded by the big draft guys too. When in reality it was a product of a weak class and a definitive top 2 which hyped them up.
This year you have a clear cut top 4 , with tons of varying opinions of who the top guy or even top guys are. Mayock for instance has Kizer and Watson top 2. Brugler has Trubisky and Kizer top 2.
Because there is no consensus at the top its perceived as being weak.
Again, watch how this class begins to get talked about after the combine. Its like clock work how it works.
Just look at the QBs... please.
They're QBs.
QBs ALWAYS get oversold, and overdrafted.
Dreamers will dream.
"Scouts" are as desperate to "hit" as monkeys with a dart board.
These QBs at the top just aren't that good, even the so-called "best" of them.

Its nothing to do with scouts trying to get a hit on their board or even the way in which QBs are usually hyped up. Its pretty easy to watch the top 4 and see ways in which they can be good QBs in the NFL, not too hot on Trubisky or Kizer but even still they can good QBs in the league.
You aren't going to see them the same way as me so I guess we'll just have to watch over the next few years..

Pretty much. I see the top as extremely mediocre and suspect looking back the best in class may be someone not taken in the first (or even second) round.

Chad Kelly didnt actually violate anything, that whole combine invite retraction thing is a mess on the NFLs part.
Besides, why does not going to the combine take him out of anything? You dont have to go to the combine to get drafted.

id sign him as an udfa

Mike Mayock said he is "scared to death" about any QB being picked in the top 10. He does not like DeShone Kizer in high pressure situations and has concerns about Deshaun Watson's accuracy.
Carson Wentz was supposed to learn from the bench. The Vikings forced the Eagles to change their plans after losing Teddy Bridgewater. Wentz started OK, then showed a long windup on this throws and other mechanical issues. Jon Gruden explained in December Wentz's interceptions were the result of being unprepared for the NFL's faster speed as he saw wide open receivers and bam, defenders seemed to come out of nowhere.

It was a legal issue. Something about a bar fight IIRC. I do not agree with the NFL's decision, but they would not keep him out of Indianapolis if he did nothing wrong.
Kicked out of Clemson, punched a bouncer and threatened to "spray" the place with an AK, alleged snapchat photo with MJ.
Talent certainly worth taking a look at, with the same that could be said of his character.
