Fackrell is tall!!! 6'5,wow and only 250!
:geek: Don't be surprised when this isn't a "flashy" draft.

Quote:Travin Dural will be a steal in the 2nd or 3rd round. He is legit.
My thoughts also. If he is there in the 3rd I feel like we need to pull the trigger.

I'm not sure why he isn't getting more hype? He's putting up numbers with awful QB play.

Whoever manages to get him in the 3rd will go home very happy.

I suppose hes being over-shadowed by Fournette ,even the other LSU WR Dupre seems to be getting more hype.

Agreed. I would love him in the morning third despite having the allens. That receiving core with Thomas would be deadly.
Free Agency

Trumaine Johnson-STL-CB-Probably wont be resigned by STL  and would match up well with House and Colvin to fill out our starting CBs

Cordy Glenn-BUF-OT-Buffalo is already starting to rotate his snap count as they know they probably wont be able to resign him this offseason so bring him in for the LT spot and that would give us 2 bookend tackles

Danny Trevathan-DEN-LB-Would love to get him to play with Smith/Poz he can tackle really well and cover TE/Rbs really well which would be a fantastic asset

Draft

1st Round-Jalen Ramsey-FSU-FS-Sergio Brown and Josh Evans.........Ramsey would fit great on the Defense and would complete the secondary with House/Johnson/Colvin/Cyp

Scout Report-http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...len-ramsey

Youtube-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL4MplOj2IU

2nd Round-Yannick Ngakoue-Maryland-LEO
-Would rotate with Fowler and be a really good pass rushing duo because all Ngakoue does is get sacks

3rd Round-Eric Striker-OKlahoma-OLB-Another LB? We have Skuta/Smith/Poz/Trevathan? Yes but LB depth on this team has been terrible for years and striker turns it into a strength

Scout Report-http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...ic-striker

Youtube-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bndBUxbJBc4

4th Round-Brandon Shell-South Carolina-OG-Another South Carolina Gaurd? Yes,he is not a good tackle because he is so massive but at guard he can maul and compete with Cann/Beadles

Scout Report-http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...ndon-shell

5th Round-Eric Murray-Minnesota-CB-More of a depth pick up to be the 4th corner and say bye bye so Gratz or Mccray, not great but just a good football player

Scout Report-http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...ric-murray

6th Round-Drew Kaser-TAMU-P-A punter? Yes ours sucks and this guy is good so its a need. Guy can boom it at 47.5 yards a punt

6th Round-Ka'imi Fairburn-UCLA-K-Is perfect on the year from field goals and also hit a 60 yarder and improved his accuracy every year. Myers did ok this week but stil need an upgrade

7th Round-Joe Bolden-Michigan-ILB-7th round pick the guy is a good football player and in the 7th round if you can play special teams and play good when your called upon thats all i want

Very nice FA additions

Could use a TE to replace Lewis

I'd have no problems adding a P and K late
Eric Striker... ick.

Anyways, watched some Carl Nassib this weekend and I have a hard time seeing him even being a functional 5-tech in the NFL, let alone an edge rusher. Only time he seemed to do anything to affect the the game was when he ran a twist stunt to beat guards or he got matched up on a slow-footed RT that he barely beat off the edge. When he got blocked on his first move, he stayed blocked. Hell, Northwestern's FB was eating his lunch every single time Nassib was his assignment. 6th-rounder at best, IMO.

The love fest for Nassib is over? Man wasn't this guy putting up monster numbers earlier?
Can't speak for anybody else since this was my first time paying attention to him, but I was not impressed at all. I'm hoping Draftbreakdown posts some of his good games just so I can see if he played better earlier on and teams are just scheming against him better now.

Let me take a stab at this.

My dream would be for Khan to open up his checkbook and get Sean Payton here. Marrone was his OC in New Orleans for awhile, so hopefully Payton would keep some of the offensive staff for continuity purposes.

Free Agency:

Eric Weddle - FS - We desperately need playmaking in our secondary and he would be a good veteran to have back there

Alex Mack - C - Still battling injuries but I believe he would be an upgrade to our line

Willie Young - DE - Seems to badly want out of Chicago, so assuming he gets released, we need to be all over him

Draft

1) Vernon Hargreaves - CB - I think it will be just out of the reach of Bosa so we go with the best available player. He along with Weddle will add some much needed playmaking in the secondary.

2) Yannick Ngouke - DE/OLB - Can't get enough pass rushers

3) Tyler Matakevich - MLB - Dude has been making plays all over the field this year for Temple. Reminds me a lot of Chris Boreland. Would be groomed to take over for Poz.

4) James Conner - RB - HUGE RB who would go higher if it weren't for his knee injury. Could be our short yardage back and a great compliment to Yeldon.

5) Roberto Aguayo - K - No more worrying about the kicker for the next decade

6) Jake McGee - TE - Solid receiving TE and good blocker. Would compete for the #2 TE spot

6) Tyler Marz - RT - Would sit behind Parnell to be groomed

7) Reggie Northrup - OLB - Local kid who would backup Telvin and be a solid STer

QB - Bortles, Henne

RB - Yeldon, Conner, Robinson, Grant (KR)

WR - Robinson, Walters, Greene (PR)

WR - Hurns, Lee, Sterling/Benn

TE - Thomas, Harbor

TE - McGee, Jacobs/Koyak

LT - Joeckel, Wells

LG - Cann/Wisnieski

C - Mack, Bowanko

RG - Linder, Shatley

RT - Parnell, Marz

RDE - Fowler, Young, Davis, Smith

DT - Marks, Bennett

NT - Miller, Jones

LDE - Odrik, Alualu

OLB - Smith, Northrupp

MLB - Poz, Matakevich

OLB - Ngouke, Skuta

CB - House, Colvin, McCray

FS - Weddle, Brown

SS - Cyprien/Sample, Evans

CB - Hargreaves, Gratz, Marshall/Peyton

K - Aguayo

P - Anger

LS- Tinker

He is certainly not a great athlete.

I think they need more speed at linebacker than he would offer.
2018 I want to sign Ryan Shazier to man the middle. He would only be 25. He and Telvin would make the fastest LB core in the league. A little light at 230, but so was mike pete.

Anyway for this offseason:

FA: Bruce Irvin. Spoctrac has him listed as 25 years old but everywhere else says hes 28. Id give him a 4 year deal regardless. He represents the Otto postition. Skuta can play special teams and be a very solid backup.

Tashaun Gipson: to wear #39 and be our FS we are looking for.

Resign Wiz.

1st round: Hargreaves

2nd round: Shaq Lawson

Dream on

Did some digging, Irvin is 28. Did not know that, I could've sworn he was younger.
Hustler, I like your draft alot. I think if we sign a free agent like weddle or Johnson that will dictate who we pick between Ramsey and VH3. So I like the Weddle signing so he can groom Sample if we do keep him at FS. Haven't heard of Matakevich but I shall research him a little. Not crazy about your free agency because how much better is mack than wiz/bow? He might be better but is that worth the $$? Willie Young is ok,good situational guy behind fowler and nagouke
Should the Jags go on a win streak and perhaps challenge the 6 or 7 win strata placing the team around Pick 12 through 15, one player that the team might consider is:

DeForest Buckner - DE - Oregon - 6'7" 290 Lbs

Thru 9 Games: 51 TT - 12 TFL - 7 Sacks - 5 PD and 4 QBH.

Buckner plays the 5 Technique DE, which is the same position as Jared Odrick in the Jags Defense.

Buckner could develop into another Calais Campbell (Cardinals - DE), which is a good thing.

In 2014, Buckner's stats were: 81 TT, 13 TFL, 4 Sacks, 4 PD, 3 QBH.

If the Jags selected DeForest Buckner, which they might consider even if they we selecting as low as Pick 8 or 9, is to place him on passing downs opposite Dante Fowler Jr. at Leo or move him inside to allow for another edge rusher.

Buckner's size and power against ORT's is his greatest strength and he could be that sleeper pick the Jags taken in the 1st Rd of the 2016 draft.

A prospect worth watching on the 3rd day of the draft is:

Trae Elston - SS - Ole Miss - 5'11" 195 Lbs

Thru 10 Games: 52 TT - 4.5 TFL, 4 Ints 9 PD

2nd leading tackler on Ole Miss Defense

Could be comparable to a Karl Joseph type of SS

Punishing tackler that has developed his ballskills during his Sr season.

Tony Connor got a lot of hype, but Elston may be the better Safety prospect.

Quote:People still hanging on to the Hackenberg thing I see

Better he's better served in more of a pro-style offence.
