I am happy with the win, but we still have a lot of issues that seem to be there every game since Gus got here.   Our team played hard and pulled it out, but to ignore the issues that other posters have pointed out just because we won is not being  a fan, it is being a sheep

Quote:Second that. I am just glad we were competitive until the end and not self inflicted loss.
Most of all I liked how Bortles lead the game winning drive in under two minutes. Gave me the feelings...
Quote:This can't be coincidence, it happens every damn week. Is it conditioning? Is it poor adjustments and 2nd half play calling? My God.

Regardless of the result, Gus has to go. This is absolutely pathetic.

Funny stuff. It was hotter than hell out there, and swamp humid. The defense was wilting but stepped up when necessary and won the game.

You and your band of angst seekers were wishing for a second half collapse. I'm sure you and the rest of the hand wringers are devastated the Jags played tough and won the game. Don't worry. They'll lose again and you will be able to resume your trail of tears.
Quote:The defense seemed to tighten up. Seems like adjustments were made.

But we never make adjustments.

I mean I get it. The OP wants Gus fired win, lose, or draw. He'll just have to wait another week with his shenanigans.
The OP reminds me of that kid in high school that reminds the teacher about the homework assignment.

Its something the team always seems to play worse in the 2nd half for the last few years.

Both teams clamped down defensively in the second half. Miami had one decent drive and then they were shut down by the Jags defense. Even as the 100 degree heat and near 100% humidity that had guys gassed late in the game, yet they dialed it up when it mattered and completely shut down a good Dolphin offense. I'd say they played just fine in the second half, and walked out with a win few were expecting.
It's funny - I've been saying for a while that given the position the team's in we can expect to win some games we shouldn't have and lose some games we shouldn't have this year, and that we shouldn't get too worked up about either of these things.

I wasn't expecting to see both of them in the first two weeks, of course...

I'm sick of people like you coming here and providing well thought out and rational reactions.

:-)

I'm still in favour of cutting:

- WRs who drop balls.
- Anyone who makes a special teams error (missed FG/XP, any punt not downed inside the 20, fair catches etc.)
- Any offensive lineman with a J in their name.
- Coaching staff for picking plays that I find too predictable or too unconventional or failing to prevent others from picking such plays.

This should happen after each play - no point in waiting until the end of the game or until we have a suitable replacement. You mess up, you hand in your jersey and get out of town.

Yep, cut em and replace them with any yokel off the street because it is impossible for a guy who has been cut multiple times from some team's training camp and is now selling insurance, to be any worse than someone on our roster.

I don't even need to see the guy play because I know football and I also know our players are the worst in the whole world.

Except the guys we cut. They're diamonds in the rough who play brilliantly for other teams. Why the heck did we cut them?

I mean, it wasnt a second half collapse smartass, but they certainly stalled. Again, a consistent theme each week. Playing like we have a 14 pt lead in a tie game.

It's literally every game though. It's self inflicted more than anything.

It's the NFL. It's not the college game. Point differentials in the vast majority of games is a td or less. If you can't grasp that point, go find a college team that wins their games in lopsided fashion.

We won. I know this eats you up.
For those lamenting the lack of halftime adjustments the past two seasons consider the lack of talent on the roster the first two years.

If Bradley had made superior adjustments to his coaching counterpart the past couple of years, how would you know?  WOuld the team realistically be able to implement the adjustments successfully?

If the opposing coach had made adjustments, would the talent depleted roster here be able to counteract it?

Yes, the offense was largely shut down in the second half.  But the team still managed to win.

I think this team is more talented than it has been here in years.  Maybe not 1999 talented.  Not even 2007 talented.  But the team can at least be competitive this year.  There will be fewer games where you get the sense Bradley was outcoached.

we drove down the field on the final drive, so final adjustments were made effectively.  there is really nothing to gripe about.

So the lack of halftime adjustments caused AR15 to push off during a play action pass in the 3rd quarter. Or caused Jermy's hands to slip into a defender's facemask in the 4th?

Y'all some funny people...
