Tony Khan logged into the website and read Rocdee's post. Turns out, the vaunted analytics we employ is just an aggregation of Jungle polls. It's why Blake kept throwing to Blank#2 last week.

if sample and brown start at the two safety spots, and evans is one back up, who is the other?

Wouldn't Evans probably be the backup at both spots?

Wouldn't that be the case with every other team if one of your starting safeties is injured?

Well, two right? Either Brown/Sample then another to Evans or the remaining Brown/Sample?

I just think if they plan on having Cyp inactive, they wouldn't go into game day with just 3 safeties would they?

Cyprien was an Aaron Curry
One of the safest players in the draft that somehow managed to be nothing more than super very average.
But you really can't be surprised that something like that would happen to the Jaguars.
I really do wish I had that article on hand that was analyzing the Jaguars draft picks from 2003 to 2013. I do remember the conclusion being that the Jaguars' first round woes were a complete anomaly, and that a team would have to purposefully draft the wrong player in the first round every year for something like that to happen again. I'm getting a little off-topic but when your team has drafted zero real playmakers since 2006 it's hard to avoid being in physical pain when thinking about it.

Id say cyprien has to start playing a lot better to be avg.

Watch Sample make a big play. INT, FF, fumble recovery, something. I'm not saying he won't make mistakes (probably will) but I think he'll make at least one "impact" play such as TFL, PBU, INT, FF, FR, sack, etc

I hope so. I truly feel the lack of impact plays going for us has been the single biggest hurdle this team is facing in the W-L column.

Aaron Curry was a top five pick. Cyprien was a second rounder. No comparison.

Quote:Aaron Curry was a top five pick. Cyprien was a second rounder. No comparison. The point is that they were both considered really safe players and neither really amounted to anything but being average at best.
As far as expectations in relation to their draft slots, you're absolutely right, Curry was a huge bust. I don't consider Cyprien a bust, but I do believe he, like Curry, was a bit overhyped by the media with the "safe pick" moniker.

you have yet to see Sample on an NFL field in the regular season, you've barely seen him on the practice field, and you've only seen him for a couple quarters in the preseason, and you've already made the determination that he "may be our Earl Thomas" and that he is a "ball hawk" and "thumper"
????????

????????
And on Dave Caldwell, we can rag on him all we want, but he has not picked any players in the draft in a spot where the player was projected to go much lower, almost all his picks were drafted where they were expected to go or drafted much later then projected.

Hahaha no wonder some people are so delusional here. We're Seattle south!!! Gimme a break. Looks like Dave Caldwell was another reach by khan.
