What do you think people will say if Blake Bortles out plays Aaron Rodgers in week 1?

I think that the major media outlets would think that Aaron had a bad game/lack of weapons - to which he might have. Either way, if Bortles lights it up completely, more and more, people will start the conversation if he can be considered a top tier QB. 

 

I expect Bortles to improve even more from last year and I am excited for finally having a true, game changing QB at the helm.

Statistically yes. Hopefully he can be a postseason winner too. That is if we can ever get the other phases of the game figured out.

That's my feeling on it.


If he had a solid offensive line he would be talked about as being a top QB in the league right now.

I think that some of his INT's would not have occurred because he was under duress quite frequently, which led to some errant throws. I'm just amazed at his escapability where you think he should go down and instead, he wiggles out and launches the ball for a reception. 

I somewhat agree but I feel we owe it to him to wield him to bigger, tangible success.


He is the best we've seen at the position, but he got carried away in critical times last year. Now, he looks to have cured those limitations. Scary to see. He is good. Just stay contained, keep it within reason, the rest will come. Too much talent, desire, and chemistry for otherwise.

Regardless of what happened last year, I still stand by my statement. 

 

Even in the "crappy" year that Bortles had, it was statistically better than it would have seemed. I think we relied way too much on the passing game - with no semblance of a running game… He did have his fair share of bad plays, but I am still optimistic for the upcoming year.

 

There is no way that some untalented QB throws for as many TDs and yards as he did in his first two years. Fix and solidify the O-line, supplement his talent with an actual running game - and I think this is a recipe for real success. 

 

I will willingly take my fair share of crow if Bortles' career crashes and burns.

Our ceiling isn't that high, so its still possible.
