Loving the power runs to the right side of the line. With Linder, Parnell, Lewis and Alualu lead blocking, we should expect a lot of 3rd and short conversions this year.
Does anybody know where we ranked as far as 3rd down conversions last year?

Surprisingly well. Last year the Jaguars tied four teams for 7th place with a 43 percent third down conversion rate. They also led the league in total number of 3rd downs converted with 101.

He was still [BLEEP] about it on twitter.
Even after three scores on three consecutive 10(+?) play drives.

The play calling has been interesting. He's clearly doing a better job of utilizing the talent he has to the best of their ability, and he's not trying to force things like stretch plays with Gerhart. Fisch seemed to have a blind spot when it came to putting talent in the best possible position to succeed with his play calling.
The good news here is that this is the preseason, so we're barely getting a glimpse of the playbook, and the play calling is already much better than we've seen in recent years.

The play calling has been great, there should've been 3 passing touchdowns so far (Harbor's drop, Hurns drop, inaccurate ball/drop by Denard Robinson), all of those situations were created by Olson's play calling. All you can ask from an O coordinator is to put players in a position to succeed, I think he's doing that. The Achilles Heel of the Jaguars offense (Imo) are the receivers, I don't know if any of these guys can consistently separate and catch the ball, time will tell. Either way I expect David Caldwell to target an Alpha no-doubt #1 receiver in next years draft, it's been a long time since the Jags had a true #1 that can threaten every level of the field, like Jimmy Smith did.

Eh it goes both ways. Gerhart was brought in as a fit in our ZBS. So was Beadles. Then you hear Gerhart talk about how he was taken a back last season during meetings with all the stretch runs that they wanted him to do (and it showed in games), and how Beadles struggled a bit adjusting to it.
If you're going to prop him up for Olson, shouldn't you criticize him for Jedd's misfits?
We have no idea what was the deal with the FO, but it seemed like the "fits" for the defense were more clearly defined (long, athletic at CB in McCray, Harris, House, Gratz), physical at S (Guy, Cyp, Sample, Brown). The only "miss" for the defense IMO is this OTTO thing, which just sounds like such a difficult position to fill (in that they want someone who can set edge, rush, AND cover), since so far we've gotten guys who can do a little bit of each of those but none at a level acceptable enough to not be a liability overall
Luke was a spread OL that had to learn pro system and ZBS. Typically, with OL running ZBS you want smaller athletic guys yet we got bigger guys in Zane, Bow, and Linder. Now with us doing away with ZBS, you get a great fit with Linder and Parnell on the right side.
