This sucker punch incident is a reminder why highly questionable character risks should be avoided when putting together an NFL roster.   Geno Smith certainly deserves better.

I actually thought that this was a joke when I saw the headline. I'm sorry for Geno and the Jets, but this is hilarious.

On a more serious note; what kind of idiot throws a cheap shot on his own QB?

Quote:Because he went to Haaaaaaaaaaaavard.
Didn't he get a perfect score on the Wonderlic? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Just something that I wonder about.  If it was truly a "sucker punch" and it was not football related (evidently it happened in the locker room), couldn't IK Enemkpali be charged for battery?

They'd never find a jury that would convict Enemkpali. If anything, the man would be given a medal.

There was a funny joke that I just read on the Giants MB: "Geno tried to throw the first punch, but it was intercepted and returned for a touchdown."

That's actually awful news. Can you imagine if a 6th rounder here punched Blake in the face and he was out for an extended amount of time? Woof.

It's only awful news if you're a Bills, Patriots or Dolphins fan. If you're a Jets fan, it's proof that there are forces beyond our comprehension at work, and those forces are inclined to give even the Jets a break every so often.

<p style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;background-color:rgb(245,248,250);">Sources say Geno Smith threw the first punch but it was a couple yards short

This made me literally laugh out loud.

Absolutely

Agree. And I guess I am in the minority but I feel bad for Geno Smith. This was a guy seemingly did what he needed to do to be the starter and help jump start his career. Now this one punch likely puts him on the bench for two months.
Sucks for him. I wonder how the Jets will do without him?

It was rumoured that he did but he confirmed he left at least 1 question blank so at tops it was 49/50

You're not in the minority (well not alone at least).  I hate to see any player regardless of team put on the bench for something like this.  There is a quote that comes to mind when I think about these young players.  There but for the grace of *** go I.

Their season in saved...
lol Cheatriots keep cheatin'

Can't deflate balls, they'll pay someone to deflate divisional QBs' jaws

6-0
Dave McNally, a punter for the Bengals got a perfect score.

It's reported that it was over a $600 dollar plane ticket that Geno didn't pay him back for.
