The New York Jets have released a linebacker for breaking their quarterback's jaw in a fight in the locker room. In other words, the Jets finally get a player who can hit and they release him.

You do realize Anthony Becht and Geno are both WVU people so there's bound to be major bias.

Most people are happy on the Jets message board that Geno is not going to be the starter.

There might be something more about Geno's personality that we don't know about. You have to be pretty immature to be shoving 74 year old coaches at halftime.

Sorry, but I don't feel bad for Smith.  $ is money.  You pay the guy back.  Should that guy have reacted like he did?  No.  But if you decide you're not going to pay someone back, you better be wary of that guy moving forward...

I agree, Geno said he was going to pay him back and he really should have done so, especially since he already had a little confrontation earlier about this and knew the guy was not happy about Geno not paying him back.

 

If Geno could not afford the whole $600 at once, he should have at least given him a portion of it and made arrangements to pay back the rest as he was able.

 

Geno could have easily avoided this whole situation, but didn't.

I highly doubt he couldn't afford to pay back $600. He just decided to be a jack hole about it and got jaw jacked in the process.

Not only that, but Geno told the guy he would pay him for it.  It probably wasn't a big deal to the guy until Geno kept pushing him off.

you never know.  A lot of these players have to go take out loans over the summer because they mismanage their money so badly that by the end of the summer they run out....its sad, but true.

Although it seems some in the Jets' locker room don't see it that way. "That’ll get a man hit every time, especially one that hasn’t earned respect," a source said about the finger pointing.
