Scobee represents a bad era. I'd cut him in attempt to rid our bad luck.

Jerry Jones would hire you as Senior Executive Adviser in the school of Jerry Jones General Managing.
Quote:heard today on timtimxxl that meyers signed a 3 yr contract 2yrs gaurenteed now its only 450k this year and 510k next year but maybe they want to hold on to him ps maybe to let him learn under scobee and will be our kicker in a year or two.

I seriously doubt any of it is guaranteed.

What exactly would he 'learn from Scobee'?
4)Battle brewing. The kicker competition may be real; if that’s weird to read it’s because Josh Scobee[Image: icon-article-link.gif] has been entrenched there without significant competition for much of his career, particularly in recent seasons. But rookie Jason Myers[Image: icon-article-link.gif] has shown impressive power and accuracy in camp and converted three of three field goals Saturday, including one from 53 yards and another from 60. Scobee also had a 50-plus-yarder in the scrimmage. Kicking field goals in games is a different beast than practice or scrimmage, so this one will be intriguing to watch in the coming weeks. Myers missed several field goals in practice Monday, a reminder that this competition will be decided by far more than Saturday’s scrimmage.

I think you go with whoever shows they have the golden leg in live games. Ol' Scobee may be kicking for his job this preseason. Who would have thought?

After Monday's blurb about Myers missing a few field goals, you can't cut Scobee for someone who could be on a Linsanity-esque hot streak.

I think it's a longer shot than some think.

HA !!! I actually had a sarcastic response drafted to that post but deleted it because I'm attempting to be nice this year.
Per the link below, Scobee has a Base Salary of $3.425,000 and signing bonus of $937,500 totaling $4,387,500

I assume the signing bonus is already done -- is that correct? If so, it looks like our net savings by going with Jason Myers would be ~ $3 million. Is that a correct assessment?

Just keep Scobee for 2015 and draft Aguayo next spring.

Round 3 again?

I mean, it's not like a kicker has an extensive playbook.
Lol

"Learn under Scobee."

Good god it gets sadder every year around these parts.

How many did Scobee miss in practice Monday? How many did each player attempt? What were the distances of the misses?

There's a lot of context missing here.

I say we give Myers #17 !!!

"*K Jason Myers came back down to earth. He hit a 60-yarder on Saturday night, but missed at least three field goals on Monday."

I'm assuming if he 'came back down to earth', he isn't missing 55 yarders.

We haven't heard anything about Scobee struggling in practice, only that Myers has been lights out. The only way this is a real competition is if Myers is nearly flawless.

I'm not concerned about the misses on Monday. The Saturday night 60 yard field goal under the lights was enough for me. That's like hooking up with a hot model when your friends are all with you on the weekend but settling for the fat chicks when nobody is around on weeknights.

You would be the best commentator ever.
