Quote:Denard would be the emergency 3.

Nick Marshall should be emergency 4

Who will be emergency 5?  They need to figure this out soon.

Matt Jones. He's free.

Jags love QB conversions
Quote:I don't know 02. Henne, though unspectacular, has started 53 of 64 games in this league, and having a good camp as usual. Tuel isn't unseeding him based on camp/preseason performance.

If Tuel does much better than Henne this Preseason, why shouldn't he replace Henne?

Because of the unknown. Preseason success is not typically sufficient to oust an established (again, though unspectacular) vet. Unless he proves to be far superior...unfortunately, he won't be afforded that much time in the games to show that.
People who have never attended a practice need to understand how difficult it is to report as FBT does. First off the practices are all held on the distant most field which is approximately 100 yards away from the stands. To really see anything you need field glasses. Then there is the perspective of being on the sideline, 100 yards away, so even reading the jersey numbers is a real issue when they can be read. The jerseys are rolled up near the pads so that they can not be clearly seen. Then there is the crowd of players you have to look through to follow the ball.

You have to give it up to FBT, because what he does looks effortless, but it is anything but.

Thanks to everyone who posts great notes from practices.

We know who we have in Henne, and that he's not going to ever be anything more than a game manager who always checks down unless something is wide open deeper. If Tuel comes in and shows a legitimate aptitude for the game with the ability to make the deeper throws, I feel it would be the wise move to give him a shot. With Henne you almost know you're losing the game unless the running game and defense are both taking care of business. Last year Henne's YPA was 6.3 and his completion percentage was under 54 percent. This is par for his norm, and it's just not good enough.

Stigma, a class act. Tim knows he's a reporting technician. 02 called it a gift. As said, his pieces are true scouting reports that opponents will pay for. Scouts of other teams should not see em.

True. I attended one Jags practice in 2009, and was totally lost as far as figuring out what was going on. All I remember noticing was one receiver standing out compared to all the others, MSW.

Sims freaking Walker, our next Jimmy Smith. Oh, how we pined for a real catcher those days.

Having done a few camp reports, I can tell you it is impossible to see EVERYTHING that goes on.  They break up the team in position groups and place them at various spots over the three practice fields.  You have to pick and choose what position groups/drills you are going to follow.  But that allows you to be more detailed in your examination of what is going on if you focus on one or two drills at a given time.  You think you will miss too much, but if you take enough notes on what you see, eventually you will have a nice, detailed report of considerable length.  After I examined my post and compared it to the highlights the team offered, I covered the same stuff.  Over time, you kinda get a feel to what to look for.  7x7s and 11X11s are always good to view (assuming they aren't on the far field).  As Stigma observed, it can be difficult to follow the action even on the middle field, and almost impossible on the far field without binoculars.  Some of the running plays I kinda take with a grain of salt because they don't usually "hit to the ground," so you don't know what a RB truly would have done on a play of not.

Maybe why that's why we lose so often.  FBT is providing free scouting on our team to 13 other teams...  Wallbash

To be fair, if your back up QB is on the field, your chances of winning usually go down regardless of who he is, unless the defense and running game are taking care of business.

Unless your backup is Steve Young or Tom Brady.
Henne needs to go..  it is a glaring weakness.

Any new reports since the first day?  Nothing to see here folks move along.

You're right. Jeff Tuel is the saviour back-up QB this team needs.

Of course he's not but if he is the better option as the teams backup QB then I would hope the team is not scared to make the move and get rid of Henne. IDK if he is or not I'm simply saying if the team is truly about competition then it should be at every position and if Henne is the odd man out so be it.
