Seems like Greene13 isn't being talked about a lot but I can seriously see him becoming this years Telvin Smith. Might not get a lot of playing time at first but he will start making plays and earn a starting role. All this guy did at FSU was get open and make clutch plays when they counted. Remarkable we got him in the 5th.
Ya man...
When i checked his stats and highlight videos.... I cant believe he didnt go sooner than the 5th round either.
From all accounts, he was clutch and the best part to me is that he WILL catch the ball in traffic and NOT curl up in a protective ball
It seems like he's being held back at the moment and won't go straight into the team.
That's probably sensible - because he'll have a lot to learn, but (assuming he's the real deal) we could do with a player with his sort of skills in the team.
He will score 3 TDs this year, with 39 receptions.

I disagree. I think his value is underrated and isn't simply a fifth round pick in terms of value added. He made the first overall pick look a lot better by bailing out his QB. If he continues to do so and stay healthy I think he'll have a season with 20+ catches that create a new set of downs. That is if he plays 12+ games.
Playing time will be tough to find but Lee has some serious competition. Maybe not in talent but in terms of talent and availability. Bortles should really enjoy having another safety net.
To be an effective slot player, you have to really have the playbook down pat and that's nearly impossible at this point. With how much Sanders has turned around, Greene may not see the field much other than on ST. Not a knock on him at all, he just needs experience.
I think he'll get some rotational play, but under 20 catches on the season is more likely in my opinion.
Id probably take the over on 20 catches. Ace, Lee ,Hurns and robinson have all missed time for various reasons and even then Lee and Ace have been very inconsistent with Hurns bordering on the same label.
Entirely possible for Greene to end up the starting slot player either due to injury or outplaying Lee/Ace

Injury maybe. Greene will not outplay Lee.

Sander could outplay Lee because no one is making plays when they have DNP status. Lee has to find a way to play a lot of games this year which is something he hasn't done since his breakout 2012 college year.
He was drafted in the 5th for a reason. I'd be stunned if he caught more than 20 balls. He's just a guy.

Is Antonio Brown just a guy for being a 6th round pick? Is Telvin Smith just a guy for being a 5th round pick? Is Richard Sherman just a guy for being a 5th round pick?
Thank you for proving my point.

No, but Jarrett Dillard, Pat Thomas, Zach Miller, Josh Evans, Chris Prosinski, and Mike Thomas are all just a guy type players.
I see your point that we can't say he is just a guy until a few years from now.
But expectations for a 5th round WR are around 30 catches and a couple of garbage time TDs.
.
I probably shouldn't have worded it the way I did. The chances of him ever being a quality starter a really low. I hope he proves his 5th round status wrong. But guys who are around n the later rounds are usually there for a reason. I expect him to contribute in minor fashion.
Makes tough catches in traffic, knows how to get himself open in the middle of the field, ok size, quick out of his initial break but slow afterwards...he's basically a taller Ace Sanders.
Not that that's a bad thing, but he's not going to be a starter anytime soon. He's buried behind more capable wideouts. At best, he's the fourth receiver, and short of an injury plague, I don't see him being much of a factor this year.

Hahs this
Well if he is following Telvin's path to fame which didn't truly come until mid season... we should look at that point.

Difference is Caldwell has an IQ and knows how to draft. He's not throwing bologna at the wall hoping it sticks. He is smart enough to find value when it's there. You are all to used to the days of Gene....those days are gone. It's ok to be optimistic again.

Bro....he is a 5th round WR. Dime a dozen
