Quote:The talent around him has dried up considerably. If he was on the Bengals, they'd be the favorite the AFC. He needs a new home if he wants to have another shot at the Super Bowl.

If Brees was on Cincy they would be amazing, you're right.

Really? The difference from Cincy making the playoffs every year and losing and them winning the superbowl is replacing Dalton with Brees?

I disagree.

Here in Pensacola, there are plenty of Saints fans. While it is true their team hasn't had a stacked team... many teams don't. Brees peaked in '11.

He wouldn't get Cincy a ring any quicker than ol Red will.

1 or 2 years? hes thrown for 5,000 yards 4 times and  30 tds 7 straight how is this elite for 1 to 2 years. Hes won a superbowl and in 13 was the only qb to compete with the Seahawks LOB. He just fell last year because he was throwing to a very old Marques Colston and actually has a rushing game. It aint like Drew Brees throwing picks is a new thing he does it but also throws 35 tds as well.

Quote:Padded stats... cmon man.

I never said anything was atrocious. He just isn't one of the best.

Some of that is making plays in "crunch time".

If you throw for 5k yards in a losing effort... you're just a great fantasy QB option.

33TDs and 17INTs after 39/12 shows the decline...

can't deny it...

Sorry you're butt hurt about Brees NOT being a top option at QB anymore, when he once was (at least for one or two seasons he was easily #3)

If I'm building a team I could easily take 5 QBs before him.

Butt hurt? Please. I couldn't care less one way or another. Perhaps you should do research before just making up stuff. This is what you said:

Quote:but the past couple seasons he hasn't been one of the best.....
If you looked at the numbers he's been top 5 in every category including being tied for first in yards last year with Big Ben. That would qualify as being "one of the best".
Quote:If you're not first you're last...

Only if there are only 2 involved.
I like Drew Brees.  I think he is good.

I like the Tin Man.

Dude just stop.

Brees is the most accurate QB of all time.

If you had to pick one QB to hit a target with your life on the line, it would be Brees.

Sit down and shut the hell up.

Dude has dementia
Quote:Drew Brees since he entered the league in 2002 has been one of the most outstanding quarterbacks in the NFL. Yet he consistently gets paired in the 2nd tier with the Russell Wilsons, Matt Ryans, and Cam Newtons and not with Luck, Manning, Brady, and Rodgers. Hes consistently gets to the playoffs, except for '12 where Payton was gone, and '14 with really no help from his team. He was the only Saint player on the top 100 of 2015. Somehow Drew Brees is ranked #30. Here are some stats from Drew Brees over his career.

Most Yards since he entered the league.

Most tds since 2006, and 2nd from when he entered the league.

Highest completion percentage in a season ever, and since he entered the league.

Most 5,000 yard seasons, 4, next best- 1.

Most consecutive games with at least 1 td

Led league in passing in 2014

9 straight seasons with over 4,000 yards.

7 straight seasons with over 32 tds.

First qb to pass for 40tds in back to back seasons

All time leader in Completion percentage.

Had 5 of last 8 nfl best offenses including 2014.

4th all time in tds, and pass yards.

I don't get why he's not being talked about with Brady and Manning as being the best ever..
You're right. And he should. Easily the most accurate QB in NFL history.

And I really don't think its close.

Wow the Brees love is silly.

I don't care how much padding you put on those stats or how accurate you are because you throw a lot of screens to the likes of sproles and such...

The outcry for him not being perceived as a top 5 QB is stupid.

He isn't a top 5 QB anymore.

He doesn't and can't carry a team.

Nice guy. Great QB in his time in the NFL. Very accurate. Won a SB. I give him props.

BUT for the past couple seasons there has been no reason for anyone, players or otherwise, to vote him up as top 20 best players in the NFL or top 5 QB.

Geez a lou...

Wilson carries his team more than Brees?
Without Brees, Saints are the worst team in the league. Even worse than the Jags, Bears, and 49ers
Quote:Wilson carries his team more than Brees?
Wilson makes plays when they aren't there. If you think the Hawks make the SB two years in a row without Wilson, you're a fool.

Brees has always been a very good QB. Especially considering he has to tip toe to see over his Oline. Very accurate, spreads the ball around...

I'm not saying he isn't any good.

I'm just of the opinion that out of ALL the QBs in the league, he isn't a top 5 QB. Regardless of what stats you want to cherry pick through. Yes he gets a lot of yards. So does Stafford and Matt Ryan and these days in the pass happy NFL a lot of QBs get a lot of yards.

It takes more than that to be one of the premiere QBs in the league. Which Brees, no doubt in my mind, for a couple seasons was EASILY the 3rd best in the league.

Now? Not so much...

So why all the whining that QBs that ARE better than Brees, NOW, are ranked better than him?

The Saints without Brees likely aren't better... but the Saints with a better QB would be better.

A Wilson type QB could extend plays when the Oline breaks down. A mobile threat QB like that can pick up chunks of yards with his feet, whether by design or breakdown.

Rodgers can make every throw, is mobile, probably the best QB in the game today overall.

Manning and Brady are a couple of the smartest QBs to ever play the game and even if physically they aren't what they once were, they can destroy teams before the ball is snapped.

Big Ben, Joe Flacco, big strong arm QBs....

Brees is right where he belongs, at the top of "tier 2"

What does Breesy have? He's accurate? C'mon man...
Quote:Without Brees, Saints are the worst team in the league. Even worse than the Jags, Bears, and 49ers
That's silly. Bucs, and Jags and Tacks were pretty awful. Last season. Brees-less Saints probably still finish with a better record than those teams.

Nah lol,

What's foolish that you think the Seahawks are a better team with Russell Wilson than if they had Brees.

Where would Brees be on the Seahawks, and where would Wilson be on the Saints?

Idk if you have answered this yet or not. But I would like to hear what you have to say.

My top 5 Quaterbacks are Rodgers,Brady,P Manning,Brees and Luck.

Pretty much this.

I also agree with an above poster in brees on a bengals/ St louis/ and potentially even Texans team could be dangerous.

The dude is freakishly accurate and a stud.

Him/manning/ Brady and Rodgers are the top tier qbs in the league.

With luck leading the second tier at this point
Had Miami not passed on Brees because of the shoulder concerns, they probably would have had at least one more title.

Brees is a great QB, and definitely worthy of a top 5 ranking even now. He is one of the top tier guys.

P. Manning just turned 39 in March and is in the twilight of his career. He will be replaced soon on the top 5 list.

As great as he is during the regular season, easily one of the greatest ever regular season QBs, it still baffles me that he could only win the one Super bowl, especially with the motivation that brother Eli has 2, in a big sports town like New York too.

I just don't see him winning another SB, especially at his age and in the downside of his HOF career.

He's always been a choker, never could handle the pressure of the big game.
