Just reported by the NFL Network. Salary Cap casualty.
Awesome. Watch him sign with Dallas now.

Injuries took their toll on Victor Cruz.  Much like was the case with another former Giants WR,  Hakeem Nicks.

He's a really good dancer.

No more salsa left...

Why is that awesome? Whoever picks him up will be dealing with injuries.

Not to the tune of $9+ million though. And he's a good fit in Dallas for the cheap. He'll have something he's never had in New York. A running game.

Cruz is banged up all the time because they have to compensate with the short passing game due to the lack of a consistent running game. He could be rotated in and out of the line-up with Beasley in the slot.

There's also a recent history of NFC East cast-offs jumping ship to fellow NFC East teams.

They cut Jennings as well
Interesting. Makes sense though. They're fixing to get a lot younger on offense. Jennings was just a guy but in fairness to him he's really overachieved in his career based on where he's come from.

Giants could go anywhere now on offense in RD1. Probably looking at McCaffrey at RB or Corey Davis at WR.

Corey Davis will not work out at the combine. The Giants certainly were going to target a RB anyway and are a team to watch for Christian McCaffrey.

Being that Christian McCaffrey;s father played for the Giants,  the transition for him would probably be easier than with the typical rookie NFL player.

It looked like Paul Perkins became the Giants primary RB late in the 2016 season.   The news you mentioned certainly doesn't come as a surprise on this end.

I thought Christian's father was a former Broncos WR.

He was. However,  he was drafted by the Giants and played his first 3 seasons with them.   He also played for the last 49ers team that won a Super Bowl.

Or a QB...
Quote:Or a QB...

Eli Manning has not hinted at retirement yet. They probably can wait for a better QB to become available in the draft.
Charlotte Observer online newspaper reports Victor Cruz visited the Carolina's Panthers team facility near Charlotte.  He can negotiate a contract with his agent with the Panthers, but he  can't sign a contract until the NFL free agency starts on March 9.   Wink

The Giants have no reason to go QB in Round 1. They may need a developmental player at some point in the draft, but using a first round pick for that is stupid in their situation.

Tell that to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers

If he was cut he should be able to sign immediately.
