Character Actor Geoffrey Lewis, known for his long working relationship with Clint Eastwood and for a slew of roles in television and film, died April 7 at his home in Woodland Hills, California. He was 79.

He was one of my favorite character actors.

 

Had no idea, until now, Juliette Lewis is his daughter.

Yeah, that was a revelation to me as well about his daughter, but as soon as I read it it was crystal clear.

 

Eastwood is one of those guys who is very loyal to his circle.  He kept this guy and quite a few others working over the years. 

 

RIP.

I found this short film about him on youtube.  It's about 30 minutes long, and audio isn't great.  (The owner of the work uploaded the film himself, so no copyright issue.)

I hadn't realized he'd been ill prior to his death.  Sad to see him like that.

 

I also had no idea he was a performance storyteller.  You can find clips of Celestial Navigation on youtube as well.  He was an amazing storyteller, another thing I didn't know about him until now.
