happy belated bday sir

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Happy belated B'day D6. You are always one of the most thoughtful and genuine posters on here, no matter what the discussion. Enjoy having you on this board.

Hopefully, one of these years at least one of our teams, the Lions or the Jags, will get to play in and win the Super Bowl for the very first time, maybe even Lions vs Jags, how epic would that be.

Sorry, worked a long day and had dinner plans and didn't have much time for the MB yesterday and missed your B'day.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Happy belated Birthday Man!

"What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes and thoughts.  It's appreciated more than words can describe.  I hope that only good health and times are ahead for each of you and your family.

Though nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the NFL,  I think the Jaguars took a huge step forward by bring back Tom Coughlin to run the team's football operation.

The Jaguars took three huge steps forward on the same day. We can only go up from here with Tom Coughlin, Dave Caldwell, and Doug Marrone for at least the next three years.

My health is better now than it was two months ago, partly because I have a kitten who can help me spend less time sleeping and using the computer.

I'm glad that your health is better now and that you have a new kitten.

Regarding what you mentioned previously, I rooted for the Patriots in SB 51 for two reasons.  One because of the picks contest.   I thought strongly the Patriots would win this game and was very surprised by what transpired in the first 3 quarters.   The other reason I rooted for the Patriots is two former Lions,  LB Kyle Van Noy and T LaAdrian Waddle are on their roster.   Both players have handled themselves with class.   Having said that,  I've been a fan of Dwight Freeney for a long time.   Hence,  it was tempting to root for the Falcons.  I was glad to see that even at this stage of his career  he still was making an impact on the field.

I could never be a fan of Dwight Freeney because he was a Colt, then a Charger, before playing for NFC teams. His ability to keep playing at a high level makes me wonder why he is playing for his fourth team.
