Would you do it?

I wouldn't. There's too much elite defensive line talent at the top of this draft.

Additional picks allow for more flexibility to scale up in the draft.

You also have to consider this: Philadelphia does not need a quarterback, so if they give a team their 2016 first round pick, it would be to upgrade another position - possibly the same one we want to fix at #3.

I doubt they'd trade up that far for a non-quarterback -- unless they think Leonard Williams is the next Alan Page.

I have probably spent 100 hours examining the talent in this draft and I can assure you that there is a bounty of talent in Rd 2 that could make this team a playoff contender.

How about grabbing that ILB - ie, Paul Dawson or Eric Kendricks or Denzel Perryman

then grabbing a RB like Duke Johnson or Tevin Colman

or maybe a sleeper LB - Otto like Lorenzo Mauldin in Rd 2 or Max Valles in Rd 3.

With the two Rd 3 selections that Jags could snag their FS in Chris Hackett (TCU) or Anthony Harris (Va) then

Grab Cedric Ogbuehi or Daryl Williams to man the ORT spot

Or how about TE propsects like Clive Walford (Miami) or Maxx Williams or Jesse James?

This team has holes to fill, BUT SO DOES the Titans, WHICH IS WHY

I think it is highly probable that if the Titans don't take Mariota, they will trade down

either with the Eagles, Bears, or Rams and the Jags end up with

LEONARD WILLIAMS!!!

The Eagles have no reason to trade up for a guy they don't need.

Who says they don't need him? Nick Foles hardly lived up to his 2013 performance last year, and Mariota is a perfect fit for Chip Kelly's offense. They might have more pressing needs, but if you think there's a franchise QB on the board and you don't think you have one, trading up is a very viable option.

I think they would love to have him. A star QB is about all they lack. But he would have to be a LOT better than Foles to consider giving up the Kings ransom needed to trade up.

Tough call.

Well, I wouldn't trade up for Mariota anyway, considering I don't think his style of play lends itself to the NFL. But that's just me.

I had considered a trade down scenario.

The Bears seem to be one of those teams that rarely trades up.  Though arguably they need a QB, I wouldn't see them trading up to get one.

The Rams could afford to move up, considering the trade they got for RG III.

The Jets always seem to like to make a splash.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I would not move down 20 spots. If we draft someone that will have immediate impact this year we might be picking in the 20s next year. That being said maybe trade down but still stay in the top 10 to get some great talent to improve this team.

There would be a quarterback controversy in training camp, with Mariota only being the favorite because of how much the Eagles traded to move up 17 spots. Why would they want to give up so much for someone who does not fill an obvious need? Yes, Mariota can be better than Foles, but that does not mean he is worth two first round picks and a second round pick just to reunite with his college coach.

There is a Cutler-to-Titans rumor. What the Bears could do is give the Titans Cutler and their first round pick, then select Mariota at #2.

The Rams used their last RG3 pick in 2014. They probably have to give up their second rounder to move up for one of the quarterbacks.

The Jets would not have to give us much because they also have a Top 10 pick. However, Mariota could drop to #6 if they don't trade up.

TBH that thread with us getting johnson in a trade I would take, the guy played well after coming back from his suspension.

So,

Their first and second this year, Johnson and a second next year seems fair IMO. We need a right tackle and having him would give us flexibility.

Regarding any trade of Cutler, due to his current salary, Da Bears are going to have to give up more to trade him away and get him off their books.

If the Bears traded up with the Titans, They most likely would have to give up at least their 1st and 2nd and perhaps 3rd so they can throw Cutler in as a bonus.

The Jets picking just two spots ahead of Da Bears might be able to give up only their 1st and 2nd.

Cutler's salary is the issue and if the Titans take it, they will need to be compensated.

Of course that assumes the Jets don't trade up for Marcus Mariota, which would be easy because the Jaguars and Raiders picked their franchise quarterbacks last year.

A more likely scenario than trading with the Jets is keeping Jay Cutler on the roster.
