Go Jameis

With the Jaguars now sitting with the 3rd draft pick, I am hoping that Jameis Winston has a fantastic post-season (bowl game(s) and combine). This would make it extremely likely that Mariotta and Winston would go 1 and 2 in the draft enabling the Jaguars to select Leonard Wiiliams. He will probably be ranked as the best player (regardless of position) in the draft and has the potential to be a huge difference-maker for years to come. Gregory and Ray will be favored over Williams by some, but neither has the complete package which Williams possesses. Others will recommend trading down to get extra picks, but you don't pass on a "can't miss" guy like Williams for an extra 2nd round pick.

The Jaguar's defense has the potential to be great with the drafting of Williams and hopefully acquiring a quality free safety in free agency (Rahim Moore should be available). Finally, a quality linebacker could be found in the 4th/5th round to provide competition at that position. Poz needs to be re-signed at a reasonable price which should happen.

The remainder of the draft and free agency will focus on offense. Obviously, a quality tight end is a must. Caldwell should target a couple of these guys (Thomas, Clay and Cameron are the best) in free agency and make an offer that his his number 1 guy can't refuse. If all return to their former teams, take the best available guy in the 2nd round. The offensive line (especially right tackle) can be solidified in round 3 and the remainder of the draft would be best player available. It appears to be a very deep running back class and I also expect Caldwell to take one of these guys in the mid-rounds.

A scenerio like this would set the Jags up to improve greatly next year (of course, Bortles must improve) with the playoffs in sight for 2016.

I can't that get excited over a DT that high. Is he supposed to be Suh? Withhout knowing much about him, id take the 2nd rounder. Plus is Jameis even a lock to go that high?

Sometimes you just can't trade back.

Actually most of the times you can't.  I think Washington for RG3 type trades will become less and less common because it usually doesn't work out for the team.

I don't want Tennessee to take a QB out of concern they might get the right guy.
