5 Most Annoying Things NeoCons Say

#61

Quote:No, they just anti-moron.

I don't think a large percentage of the Obama hate is due to racism, but to deny it exists is laughable. Just get around a group of "regular" people and you'll hear a fair amount of it. I mean, when Sony executives are making racial jokes, etc., regarding Obama ... But the opposition is mostly political - i.e., those same "regular" people could probably handle a black Republican candidate.

It exist to the same degree that blacks voted for Obama because he was black, Democrats hated Palin because she was a female, or McCain because he was an old white man. It happens but it's no different than any other party.

Quote:These claims of racism are the left's way in invalidating opposing opinions. They're weak, unfounded, and serve no other purpose than to further the divide between races. These same people that you call racists often support Dr. Ben Carson, Mia Love, Tim Scott, and Allen West. It's a stupid argument.

It's no different than all the hate that Sarah Palin got (probably even less) as The Eleventh Doctor pointed out. The left even ridiculed Palin's family.

That's simplistic and, frankly, naive. The hatred and disrespect towards Obama started before he was president. Did you see any of those town meetings and rallies during the 2008 campaign?

Have you heard any member of Congress call any president a liar during the State of the Union address, no matter how unpopular, or seen a governor of a state wag their finger in the face of a president?

All the birther and Muslim nonsense is part of it.

I am not saying his failure as a president is due to racism, nor am I making excuses. I am just pointing out there was obvious dislike of Obama before he did anything to warrant that feeling.

I disliked Palin because it was evident from the start that she is an idiot.

If something can corrupt you, you're corrupted already.

No, it isn't.

Hatred and disrespect? C'mon, rj, this is American politics. This happens on both sides of every election. Mitt Romney was labeled a rich white guy unable to relate to Americans by many on the left. What's the difference? As for Palin, I'm not saying YOU'RE doing it because she's a woman; I'm saying that the same argument can be made for Palin that you're making for Obama. I know Obama holds more esteem in your mind, but I don't believe him to be as qualified as you do. I'm sure I can call him an idiot, too, but people have told me I'm racist for doing so. You're no more a sexist than I am a racist. These silly arguments have to stop.

There haven't been many Presidents as divisive as Obama. Since I've only lived through 5 of them, and I've heard them called some of the most absurd names and comments, I don't know where you're getting the idea that Obama is some sort of exception.

As mentioned earlier by another poster, I am sure not everyone dislikes or hates Obama because of his race or perceived religious leaning based on his name but you cannot deny there is a very large group that felt that way about him. This is undeniable.

Dems disliked Palin because she either is or just comes across as stupid. People said that from the beginning where as the beginning of the hatred for Obama was because he was a muslim, or was not born here or was black. I do not claim to know the percentage of people that thought that way but anecdotaly it was sure a whole friggin lot of people I know in Florida.

There are currently rallies in front of the White House in which some participants are calling for the President to be lynched.

In the height of their troubles, did anyone interrupt Nixon's or Clinton's State of the Union address and call them a liar? Did any state governor wag a finger in their face on an airport tarmac?

Yes, he is divisive, yet his policies are more moderate than liberal. Do you really think it has nothing to do with the color of his skin?

It's a permutation of the Emperor with no clothes fable. If I state what seems obvious, you say I'm playing the race card.

I don't want it to be true, but like boudreaumw, I see and hear too much to deny the truth.

rollerjag,

I respect you as a person, and think that you're one of the best admins/mods on here. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect what you have to say, but you are really making an [BLEEP] out of yourself with these posts about Obama's unpopularity and divisiveness having to do with race. There were a lot of people who wanted Bush impeached, as well as Clinton, but neither of them were nearly as divisive as this President has been.

I've read and watched many articles, books, videos, shows, and historical pieces on many of the Presidents from GW to Barry. Obama hands down, has been the most divisive of them all and has done more to damage our Country in the long-term. Sure, there are some genuine racists and skinheads who hate this President purely on his skin-color (who again, is mixed race), but trying to say that all this criticism and hate has to do with skin-color is ludicrous. And is obviously evidence of Denialism.

I don't dislike this President because of his skin-color. I don't hate the man personally, I only hate his policies.

I won't speak for Rollerjag here but as I said in my post. It's obviously not everyone but it is a very large portion. I know a plethera of them from Jax that were very outspoken about it prior to the first election and ever since. It's obviously the case with some people. All I was trying to say is that it's denial to say his race/name/perceived religion is not the motivation for people in general. It's obviously the case for what I and a lot of people perceive as a shameful amount of the population.

Ok I'm no fan of George Bush, in fact his likely nomination of his brother is a big reason I'm not a registered member of the GOP; However to say Obama is treated worse then Bush is almost laughable. Bush was constantly called a Nazi by mainstream publications, don't believe me look at this

Let's not forget how the Media treated Bush (including artist as in movies and music Bush was an easy and constant target)

http://www.prefixmag.com/features/lists/...eek/22728/

http://www.oakton.edu/user/4/billtong/BNSP/bushsong.htm

Countless movies made about him, documentaries and such I don't really need to list those right?

But what about Senators or Governors?

Reid called Bush a liar and claimed he betrayed Nevada here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMhhEZ_okc0

There's more but I'm tired of pointing it out, claiming Obama has somehow been treated worse because he's black is laughable at best. Presidents when they are as wrong and as often as Bush and Obama get blasted, regardless of race.

I don't think he was treated worse than Bush. It's funny, I remember defending Bush, I seem to end up defending every president as it's the toughest job and no prez will ever make everyone happy and all will make some bone headed mistakes. The difference is before he was even elected Obama was hated and vilified for being a muslim with a terrorist sounding name and hated by the racist community (of which there is a huge one) for his color. I don't understand how people will continue to deny this was the case.

All presidents are treated poorly by supporters of the opposite part. This is how you know the machine of the Dems and the GOP has won and the public has lost. The vast majority just parrot what they are told. I.E. illegitemate presidency, not born here, muslim, terrorist sympathizer etc...

To try to deflect from an obvious truth by saying well the previous prez was treated poorly but in a different manner as well baffles me, especially from you.

Just pointing out Bush was as hated if not a more then Obama. I can't even name 10 songs with an anti-Obama theme, I could probably rattle off 30 or more anti-Bush songs.

There's a portion of people that hate Obama because he's Black sure, but it's such a small minority to me it's irrelevant. Probably the same amount that hated Bush because he was White, such a small portion it's irrelevant.

That's fair. Bush was hated, I don't think Clinton was as much but yeah.

I think that's the fundamental difference. In your view and in most right wingers views it's "such a small minority" and I can understand that from multiple perspectives. However from mine and and whole lot of other people's it is not a small minority. It is a well over 75% portion of the people I knew and still know from Florida, including my own family which is relatively large. Anecdotal? Sure but that's really all I have to go by.

I have a problem when people try to say it's not a problem it ONLY about policy. No it wasn't that's not true. Not for everybody but not for a very small portion either.

You are correct that the Left hates the Right, the Right hates the Left, everyone is an idiot, a traitor, etc., etc.

The thing with Obama, which I don't think can be denied, is the special level of hatred that comes with being the first black president - and he had a funny, Muslim sounding name. That was unique. And the whole birther thing was (is) beyond embarrassing to anyone with an IQ over 15.

But, those days are about to end. We can then get back to the "usual" level of idiocy that we've come to expect.

The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.

Well the people you know suck! Laughing

I can say this, the people that I do know (I live and grew up around Florida rednecks) that just hate Obama because he's Black and sounds like a Muslim name, they don't participate in the process. Heck they couldn't name their state reps if you offered them a life time supply of beer.

So when I say it's a small minority I should qualify that as, the people that are actively involved actually vote and pay attention it's a small minority.

Most do suck, main reason I moved to Oregon (also dat beer).

You and I both know there is a massive amount of people that vote but pay no attention outside of mainstream news like Fox and MSNBC. One of the bigger problems.

right but do you think those people that say only watch Fox or MSNBC and vote strictly on a party lines, you think a large number of them dislike Obama because of his race?

Most of the racist I know don't even vote, much less pay attention. They would say something like oh that (derogatory term) in the white house but they don't vote, they don't even know who their state reps are. They're what I consider the irrelevant class, We could go under complete Communism and they wouldn't know the difference. Same as the hard ghettos, you have the guys in and out of jail all their lives raising thugs they don't know who's there reps or how the system works, just the white man holding them back. It's the same class of people, I tend to think it's a minority in both groups but it's a vocal minority. Maybe I'm wrong, I hope not.

Perhaps you are right. I do not think either side is isolated to just those offshoot groups... I think it runs deeper than either would like to admit.
