Replacement short list for Bradley

It's my opinion that in this matter, his opinion is way off base and false.

So you think Dave Caldwell should have turned one of the worst rosters in NFL history around in 1.5 years without spending in FA? Or do you think they should have spent in FA to go 6-10 instead of 4-12?

Quote:I'm not sold on Babich at all and with recent news that Bradley has started handing playcalling I think he may not be around for next season.

I'm willing to give Fisch more time considering he's working with 2 (sometimes 3) rookie WRs, 2 rookie O-Linemen (3 counting Joeckel), a QB turned RB who looks like he's going to be good given more time, a TE who's more suited for a H-Back role and absolutely sucks at run blocking, and a rookie QB who's shown flashes, but like every rookie QB has struggled as well.

The ST coordinator Mike Mallory has got to go. ST coaches have been fired for far less than what has transpired this season. 3 blocked field goals, 2 blocked punts, and nonexistent punt returning and blocking.

Honest question, is there a source for this? I've seen several people throw this around over the past couple weeks and all I remember Gus saying was that he was more involved on the defensive side.

I don't have one for you other than the comments from the commentators during the Bengals game. But looking at the defensive improvement over the last 4 games besides Sunday it makes sense.

I go back and forth with Fish.  I was really hard on him at the beginning of the season.  A few weeks back I thought he started calling pretty good games, specifically with the steelers, browns, and dolphins...  Those games were lost more by our rookie QB than by play calling.  Now the last 2 games against cincy and the 'boys, I'm concerned once again.  He just seems to inconsitent.

Given those 2 as the only options to pick from, I choose neither.

Fair enough. I just searched twitter for any info and it sounds like it was hyperbole based off of Mark Long's tweet.

Keep in mind though that the broadcast crew does have production meetings with the coaches and players prior to game day. Its possible that this blurb was mentioned during one of those meetings.

Well... they inherited a roster with Blaine Gabbert as the starting QB and a defense whose best player was a mediocre Paul Poz. What did you expect?

That's not what this discussion is / was about.  that is also not what you were defending Alfie for.

Remember, the discussion is that firing the HC is a bad idea because it will cause us to have to waste time in yet another rebuild.

I disagree with this type of thought process because it's illogical and create a false choice.

If the HC or Coordinators are not performing because they are incapable of getting the best out of our players, you need to get rid of the HC or Coordinator immediately.  You don't hold onto them just because it "doesn't look good" or your worried that it will set back your time scale.  Keeping an incompetent staff 1 day longer beyond the moment you realize they won't get the job done is a waste of time.

Again, alfie is entitled to his opinion.  It's just my opinion that his opinion is garbage.

You are correct - Arians is 62 (10/3/52); Carroll is 63 (9/15/51). I see a trade coming.

Coughlin is 67 (8/31/46).

I am just as likely to be coaching the Jags next year as anyone not named Gus Bradley.

Get outta here with this garbage.

So you want someone who has just been fired for failing to do a good job?

Or do you prefer someone who comes out of the TV booth?

Quote:This statement makes it seem as if we haven't had the right players on staff for quite some time. I agree with that statement. Keep drafting turds, no coach can help them. Lee/Cyprien... both turds.

LOL - I love when a message board guru proclaims rookies or second year players "turds" (you have such a way with words).

I thought you were trying to help your argument?
