Are we set at the running backs position?

Quote:Seems like that anyway Dez,ODB,Green, Evans,Julio, Amari Cooper are all 1st rounders where as David Johnson, Bell, Freeman, Jordan Howard, Jay Ajayi, Blount, etc etc are all 2nd or later.
if there was a redraft all those RBs would be drafted higher

I think we can all agree Bell and Johnson wouldn't make it out of the first round.

Quote:I'm always very trepidacious about taking RBs early as most drafts produce quality backs in the mid rounds, but if Dave can manage to address O-Line and SS after taking the risk of an early RB pick this year, I'll be onboard.

I'd prefer Allen in the first round if he's there, but I'm unusually not adverse to a 1st round RB this year.

I actually think Ivory and Yeldon can produce with better blocking.

But nowadays it's unusual for teams to reach the postseason without need for utilizing depth at RB due to injury. So having a stud rookie in the mix is warranted no matter one's opinion of the current RB corps.

I'd prefer Cook in this scenario.
Good take.

It's hard to predict how a college RB is gonna do in the NFL.

Just watching cooks YouTube...He's a stud

He gets yards where there are none for a guy like yeldon.

Course they would. Point being quality running backs are quite common in rounds 2,3 and 4.

Thats because thats where most of the RBs are taken lol.  Not many backs are taken in the 1st.  Now you look back and teams wish they would of drafted them guys higher

Yep the value just isn't there in the first. Would be wise to pick up a guy in the 3rd this year.

I have never liked the idea of just saying draft this position in this round before the draft when you dont even know who will be picked in the first 2, but ok.

Its really just a process of elimination based on how deep the class is, who you believe will be drafted in the first and second and our needs in the draft.

Kind of like how a lot of people had Yannick tabbed as a potential 3rd round pick for us before the draft started.

Yeah the draft tends to involve a lot of luck and guess work. Don't we are breaking new ground here.
