We will destroy the Chargers

Right on the money.  Have a seat.

Quote:What he said. We hope for a brighter future with a promising young quarterback, but our present situation (indeed, our situation for about the past seven years...) is bleak. While Blake Bortles is a step in the right direction, he is only one player. We need the team as a whole to stop being so.... dysfunctional! We've had among the worst defense and offense in the NFL for years now. I would hate to see a promising star career like Bortles get wasted (much like MoJo's career was) in Jacksonville on a team that is perpetually finding new ways to underachieve.

Still this is only the second year after the team roster was gutted. No one here (realistically) had expectations of the team doing better than 6-10 (if that) this year. We knew from our schedule that (given the offensive inertia embodied in Chad Henne...) that the first four games were/are pretty much unwinnable for us. After the Chargers game, now with a better quarterback at the helm (assuming he isn't injured in that game...) we should start seeing some more competitive games and wins.

Being in dead last place in almost every significant category in defensive statistics, however, tends to give one pause....

*Is our defense really that bad, or did the ineptitude of our offense (with Henne) just cause them to play heartless and end up looking that bad?

*Is our defensive scheme really that hard to understand, or do we just have too many 'low IQ' players on our defense?

*we use essentially the same defensive scheme used by the seahawks; they are good, we aren't. Are our players that bad?

*Is a significant part of this a coaching failure? Gus Bradly was the defensive coordinator of the seahawks, yet our guys look lost half the time. Why?

I predict another double digit blowout... 40-17 Chargers.
Well.... we didn't get blown out as badly as I thought we would, but 33-14 is still a double digit loss... our fourth in a row. Bortles did pretty good for his first start considering the situation, and he didn't seem to get mauled either. As bad as the final score seems, it's better than it would've been with Chad behind center.

Once again, our secondary is allowing big plays, one right after another, and once again, the same names (winston guy) is coming up. I will say our defense held much better today against the run, but our pass defense is a joke...literally.

I y'ams who I y'ams and thats all I y'ams...
