Obviously you don't follow football much. There are maybe 2 or 3 middle linebackers in the entire league that can run step for step with ANY WR. Even "50 year old" Reggie Wayne, who by the way doesn't play like someone coming off an ACL injury.

 

Asking him to cover any receiver (unless it's one of us) is a bit much, but we can't cover anyone. Receivers, TE's, RB's etc..

Poz is slightly above average. Nothing more nothing less. Dude can play but is a major liablity in pass coverage. He also isn't very fast. If his instincts are wrong then the big play will happen.


Nonetheless he is one of the better middle line backers in the league.

I think this sums up this thread. He's not horrible as some make him out to be but he's not the all time greatest either. He's slightly above average who's good at doing his job. He gets in trouble when he tries to do everyone else's job though, and that's where he needs to focus and trust that his teammates will be in the correct position to make the play. On the flip side his teammates need to do their job as well.

He is too stiff and too slow.  That being said, A Mike LB is really not suppose to cover people.  He is a tackling machine.  The coaches should pull him off the field on 3rd down.

Hell you can see it if you weren't trying to be blind to the fact that Poz is limited in his play. If you love him that's your business. Defend him until you die for all I care. Posluszny is either going to have to have enough awareness to stop trying to make up for everyone else's mistakes, which in turn cause other massive mistakes, or they're going to have to shake up the linebacker corps. Something's got to give at some point.
