Like I said, I don't disagree with keeping public records of what the institution does, but I believe this is political.

 

Really, though, the puzzling thing to me, is why you think auditing the Federal Reserve bank would answer the why for those questions.

 

Also like I said, we already have a good idea of what the Fed has done, and the problem isn't the Fed, it's the lack of regulation in the banking and derivatives sectors in general.

 

Who's denying politics are involved? But damn you've got Republicans and Democrats saying you know what we DON'T know what's going on at the Federal Reserve so we need to Audit them. How can you say with a straight face "we already know what the Fed has done" no we don't that's the point!

Like I said, the Fed was intentionally established as an institution that wasn't answerable to federal authority, auditing them is great, but if making good law is the point then it's wholly unnecessary, we already know what needs to be done, there's just no political will to actually fix any problems, only to pull political stunts like this.
