Yeah, he did. I think he thought too much about filling a roster spot when he selected Fowler, but Ramsey was a no brainer easy choice to make.

We don't know the motivation and I won't try to guess it. My point was simply that always drafting an elite talent over someone that doesn't appear to have elite talent but plays a position of need is the correct approach.


If the Jaguars had just signed Jenkins and Amukamara in free agency Ramsey still would have been the correct player to draft.

I'm really glad we ended up with the "correct-no-brainer-best-available-appears-to-have-elite-talent-at-a-position-of-need-player."

Call me a pessimist, but I'd like to see what he does next year before I put him ahead of Mathis. He played at a higher level than anyone we've ever had at that position, but you never know what happens next year. If I had to make a bet, then I'd bet you're 100% correct.

No you right.. I would like to see him get better .. And create more turnovers and game changing plays...

There are also some positions where you cannot have enough good players. Pass rushers and corners are the big two. I don't remember the % of plays with 3+ wideouts on the field but it is pretty high. Having at least 3 people who can cover is important.
