Robinson beats out Todman in the running back battle

Quote:The team isn't even starting the best quarterback on the roster. I think winning and getting as far as they can with the best talent they can isn't really the priority this year for the Jaguars....

As far as Todman goes, if he's not apart of the future, I think it's beneficial for everyone involved to look for someone who might have a chance at being apart of it. I'm really high on Seastrunk and I always will be until he proves to me otherwise, and he did nothing but impress in the preseason.

We have differing opinions on how the Jags brass is viewing the whole QB situation and the winning games this season thing.  That's fine. I see your viewpoint and it's valid.  Maybe they are treating Bortles with kid gloves a bit too much, or maybe they are just more in tune with the situation than we are and have good reason to hold him back a while. Either way - I bet we see him on the field this season and we'll have a better angle on it at that point.

The other strike against Seastrunk (who is an interesting prospect) is that the Jags already signed a waiver wire RB to the PS. So... not looking good at this point. I've got no gripe with Seastrunk - and wouldn't hate him being claimed - I just don't know if he's an instant upgrade.

Also - Todman just gives them the stability they are looking for in the KR position and is a solid blocker if Gerhart goes down.  With the O-line in the shape it's in - they likely don't trust D-Rob  or a rookie to protect the QB as much as they do Todman.

Quote:There's nothing dumb about dropping the third running back on your depth chart who has already seen his ceiling for someone who has the potential to start for you one day, especially when you already have an established starter and depth ahead of him that brings the exact same game to the table.

I don't expect a lot of people to understand that line of thinking, but you'd be surprised how often it works out for other teams that have used the same method.
Let me rephrase this, your evaluation of him is dumb. If he realistically had the potential you claim, then 32 teams wouldn't have passed on putting him on their practice squad.

If hell freezes over and we are in need of his marginal talent, he will be sitting there selling used cars somewhere free to pick up. Don't need to waste a roster spot on a player nobody wants.
