Sidney Crosby With The Hat Trick Tonight at NHL Awards Ceremony
|
Tonight Sid the Kid won the Hart (Basically the League MVP), Ted Lindsay (NHL's most Outstanding player as voted on by the NHL Players Association), and the Art Ross (League Leader in points). Not bad for a guy who some on here think isn't even top 10 or so.

I don't understand how some people think he's not one of the best players in the game.

Is it the same people who can't get into the club?
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Quote:Best in the game today. As a native Pittsburgher of 21 years, I'm having a hard time with the above statement given he only scored 1 goal in the 13 playoffs games this year. #Ovechkin-esque Quote:As a native Pittsburgher of 21 years, I'm having a hard time with the above statement given he only scored 1 goal in the 13 playoffs games this year. #Ovechkin-esqueHe was definitely off this postseason, but as I have pointed out in previous threads, that is far from the norm come playoffs.

Quote:2 words for you and all your Flyers fans .... Eric Lindros ... perhaps the biggest hockey bust of all time. No way. He was MVP and had some very good seasons before concussions finally ended it. I'll agree that they were better off not making the trade, though. They'd have been better off just keeping Forsberg.
Another award for Crosby tonight. NHL's best player, ESPY.

Quote:No way. I'd compare the Flyers trade with Quebec (aka ... Colorady Avalanche) to be equivalent to the Vikings obtaining Hershel Walker from the Cowboys. Perhaps neither Lindros or Hershel can be considered the biggest busts in their sports but the impact their trades had on the teams they departed is almost equivalent. "Many consider this trade a key reason that the Colorado Avalanche (the new name of the Nordiques after they relocated before the 1995-96 season), went on to be an NHL powerhouse. They received in the trade the rights to eventual <a class="" href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hart_Trophy' title="Hart Trophy">Hart Trophy</a> winner Peter Forsberg, as well as Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Steve Duchesne, a 1st round selection (Jocelyn Thibault) in 1993, a 1st round selection (later traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, later traded to the Washington Capitals—Nolan Baumgartner) in 1994, and $15,000,000 cash. Since the trade, the Avalanche have won eight division titles and two Stanley Cup championships, due in part to the play of Forsberg, and the later addition of Patrick Roy, whom the Avalanche received in a later package deal that included Thibault." We show less advertisements to registered users.
