I DVR School of Golf just for that reason. She's a little bit of alright.
The US Open is a great tournament. Everybody seems to think Kaymer's got it wrapped up after 36 holes but there's still a long way to go. Not saying he's going to fold up but not saying he won't either. I think it's going to be a lot closer than most people think. Golf's the best game in the world. Not many sports you can play into your 70s and 80s. I shot an 84 the other day and playing some of the best golf of my life and I've been playing since I was 12. Not to mention I'm hitting it farther than I ever have. Now if I could only learn to chip well...

I only got to watch a little of the start then I was off to the range to hit a bucket and then practiced my chips and putting. Swinging a driver has always been my biggest frustration. I can't drive it straight with any consistency, but I'm pretty good with my long irons. I got away from golf for quite a few years and only recently picked it back up. I agree, it's a great game. One that can cause a lot of frustration some days, but I always enjoy myself. I have a new set of irons being shipped in and I can't wait to get my hands on them. I regripped my old irons but they're...old. Kaymer is golfing like a machine. Barring a mental meltdown it's his to lose.
My dad played some semi pro events when I was growing up and I could never handle the perfection it took to play that game. Just the slightest error and the days over.
Plus the weird outfits

I wear the knee high socks and a big floppy hat myself. But that's all I wear. That must account for the 'nice swing' compliments I get whenever I tee off. Quote:I would like to putt on Holly Sonders's green. I'd probably drive it for show and then get the yips on the tap in... “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:Michelle Wie is hawt. As a fan of the game (ahem), I for one am glad she uses a very short putter. Quote:I would like to putt on Holly Sonders's green. Holly Sonders is just plain distracting. I am trying to watch some sort of putting tip, and she's distracting. She does have a really nice golf swing, though.

I can't drive it straight with any consistency, but I'm pretty good with my long irons. I'm in the same situation in that I took about 10 years off and just a few months ago took it up again. I joined Bent Creek. They have a $50 a month deal where you can get all the range balls you want. They also have a very nice practice putting green, a separate chipping green, and a practice bunker. I used to shoot in the mid to low 80s (from the white tees). Right now, I'm in the low 90s, but my goal is to break 80 in the next 12 months. I never used to work on my short game at all, but now, I'm realizing, in a typical round of golf, if you include putting, about 60% of your shots are from 60 yards or less. The great thing about golf is that even if you are small, weak, and uncoordinated like me (I'm about 5-8, 155), there is a scientific way to swing a golf club, and if you are analytical, and really try to figure out how to swing the club, and practice it, you can play pretty well. It's 90% mental.

The irony of it being a mental game is that you don't want to think too much when addressing the ball. I've had to stop playing for the last few weeks. The iron set I alluded to waiting for a few posts (months) back got stolen along with all my other clubs. Including a brand new Odyssey putter that I got to use for only one round. I would gladly replace that club if I could bury it in the skull of the [BLEEP] hole that stole them.

I will never forget that collapse. It ain't over until it is over. Like that time Norman had the Masters in the bag. I only watch the Majors, and the Ryder Cup. I can't play anymore, but I still understand the pressure of making the shots to win.

Norman is a classic choker. Good businessman and ambassador for the sport, but not good under pressure. Quote:So ... this thread isn't about tennis ... Hey! Who was that guy?!
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
