This. Without Mularkey Sullivan would still be enjoying his retirement.

Not if Larry Fitzgerald had anything to say about it. He worked out with Coach Sullivan in offeseason before Mularkey hired him and wanted Cardinals too hire him as Wr coach.

Sullivan is probably like a lot of the old timers.   They build their retirement homes in Florida preparing to move out to pasture, but at the end they just can't get the game out of their system.   Jacksonville gives him the best of both worlds, and I imagine it's probably the only place he would coach at this point in his career.    At this point, being a position coach is almost beneath him.  He could coach WRs in his sleep, but it's probably the right move for an old timer at this point in his career.

Aside from being a master craftsman WR coach, this is a guy who's seen it all all a million times over.  The cycle of everything that was out of style that's suddenly gone back into style, and vice versa  and back again through decades.  They'e counter attacked every attack.   Having that kind of experience  to the coaching braintrust is a real asset to a couple of young pups like Gus and Jedd.   It's a wikipedia of offensive game-planning at your disposal.
